Instead of retrofitting a factory fridge into the center console (and spending actual beer tokens), I snaffled some excess self adhesive thermal insulation from work to line it with instead. Should keep gas station drinks cool for longer, especially if I throw a chilly pad in.
Hella make good stuff. If you have a helper, you can always unplug the existing horn and use a multimeter to see what voltage is at the connectors when the button is depressed.
If the name brand crimp tool for the connector you wish to use is cost prohibitive, you can get ones off AliExpress really cheap. I wouldn't trust them for production level quantities, but for DIY use, they seem to be fine.
I second the weather pack connectors being very average. Deutsch...
Bulb scenario.
The voltage drop equates to both lower light output, and heating of the cable/connections.
The fuse rating of a wire is usually related to the thermal capability of the insulation on the wire. A 70 degree C rated insulation gets fused at less than an equivalent size wire with...
Those artifacts are caused by the replacement lamps.
The factory headlights reflectors are engineered to have the lamp filaments at a very specific position in relation to the reflector to get the correct light beam shape. As soon as the filaments position is changed, the beam goes out of...
WRT to the HDJ100 dual batteries, apparently the Jap imports use a funky 24V start system that puts the batteries in series for starting, and then switches them to parallel for 12V operation of the truck, so I'd be very careful about splitting a factory dual battery setup in a diesel 100...
I'm not in your AO and can't be of much use for parts, but, yes, electronics are easily fried by welding. It's related to the voltage used with welding, not by the current, that's why you can't find obvious signs of wiring damage.
I haven't pulled the cluster on my truck apart, but there's...
