Hey folks
The small gauges in my dash are fried, it happened when I welded the rock sliders on the frame. (Temp, volt, oil pressure and gas)
Speedometer, tachometer and all l8ghts still work.
I couldn't find any shorts nor burned cables or circuits.
The cheapest used instrument cluster I found is over $300 and doesn't guarantee it will work, I could have fried something else along the electrical circuit.
I was thinking about getting an aftermarket mechanical gauges kit, they are around $50.
Can you guys recommend anyone in particular, especially one that can be easily installed and doesn't require drilling holes in the block? Maybe one that can be installed replacing the current sensors?
I considered scangauge, but doesn't give information about oil pressure.

Thanks

PS: I know that nothing will help with fuel gauge

I'm not in your AO and can't be of much use for parts, but, yes, electronics are easily fried by welding. It's related to the voltage used with welding, not by the current, that's why you can't find obvious signs of wiring damage.

I haven't pulled the cluster on my truck apart, but there's visible screw heads near each of the small gauges you mention, which leads me to believe the parts behind may be replaceable.

If local prices are ridiculous for a replacement cluster for your truck, have you thought about importing a replacement from NZ or Aussie?
