Just checked the maintenance records and it looks like oil WAS replaced at time of HG rebuild. I'm Going to replace filter with OEM one ASAP. hoping to see some difference come 2k mileage. Quite nervous to say the least...
I needed that bit of humor. You're saying drop the lower engine oil pan and clean it + take off the engine cover (not sure on the terminology) where the crankshaft and bearings are?
Back story, bought this 97' FZJ80 with 220k on it back in April 2020. Car runs great and has extensive maintenance history on it.
As recent as last October the PO had a HG job done (maintenance records to show) as there was coolant found entering the number 6 cylinder. When I bought the car I...
I highly doubt that...the bowfin mounts are extremely strong and they have 4 mounting points on EACH bracket that attach to the Tslots. I'd say invest in the higher quality Tnutz 80/20 and you'll be golden. Call Patrick from Bowfin or email him, he's extremely helpful and will give you some more...
I’ve got the awning mounts from Bowfin that are fantastic. Fit my Ironman 4x4 Awning well. Had to use a blend of the Ironman hardware and Patrick’s hardware that came with the mounts. But yes definitely post here once you build it out.
I think the front runner stuff is only applicable to their racks? Maybe I’m wrong but I remember the Prinsu guys saying it didn’t fit their rack system so I’m definitely assuming. Maybe the Bowfin’s are different?
I for one am looking for some inspiration on how to maximize my rack. I searched and couldn't seem to find a definitive thread for tips, tricks, use-cases, etc. for any of the Bowfin Rack Systems so thought we could start one. Post your pics on how you are attaching accessories to this amazing...
fantastic responses thank you all. Seems like for anything that is rusted best to spray with a lubricant and use breaker bar? But then again...also have heard horror stories.
I guess another question is: with the less powerful corded options, will that suffice your everyday jobs on the rig?
New wrencher here, and I'm really starting to enjoy this hobby. One thing I have my eyes on is an impact wrench. I was about to buy a Makita 1/2 for around $300 that has massive torque ratings. But then I found the corded Kobalt for $150 and seen great reviews. My question for those who have way...
Just put mine on. Instructions were not good, nor were the bolt schematics. PITA install but the Bumper looks great. How was your install? Any issues you run into?
