I have a 1” body lift and had no issue getting to that bolt. You could loosen your body mounts on that side and lift the body a little.

Also make sure the kickdown cable moves freely and is properly adjusted. Solenoids are the same as for the AW450-43LE and can be found pretty cheap. Worth searching around.

Insufficient line pressure due to the cable being too slack will result in premature wear of the clutches and ultimately gearbox failure. For the price of a new cable and the relative ease of fitting one I would strongly recommend just do it now.

Brilliant instructions. Just fitted new kickdown cable to 94 1HDT with A442F. Not a difficult job at all. All done with valve body and prop shaft left in place. I have a 1” body lift which meant the clamp bolt could also be reached to both undo and refit with the new cable.

Good quality grade 8 would be fine and is what I used. Is one of the few areas that OEM doesn’t really add anything. You also can get the two front ones out without removing the radiator. I did whole lot in a day and I am not skilled. Is a one banana job, just take time.
