Interesting that the GX has a heavier rear axle, and payload. That might tip the scales for me, although the 8.2 has held up pretty well in practice. I also like the lower cargo area load floor in the GX.
I have towed a 4000 pound boat with no trouble at all, other than getting 10 mpg.
The suspension is pretty much the same as a 4Runner, but the GX is insulated better so I would say it is quieter. The KDSS swayers allow the GX to handle a bit...
Well, I joined the 35 Club yesterday! Sliders should be here next week.

Lexus changed parking sensors several times on the 460, as a result aftermarket bumpers are hit or miss on sensor fitment. I had sensor fitment issues with both my Victory front Strike and my Coastal rear bumper. In the end I just said screw it...
Yeah higher elevations are a concern that time of year. Heck, last year I did some of the Wyoming BDR in early July and had to skip the Wind River range and the upper part of the Snowy Mountains range.
800mi+ three day Death Valley weekend with friends (100s, an LR3 and Colorado). Great second visit with this group.

Yep, "warped" rotors is a myth. But semantics aside, it is worth trying the previously mentioned re-bedding technique. This is a quote from Motor Trend: "Now that you understand what’s going on, here’s what you can do to help combat it. If caught...
When vibration occurs soon after new pads and rotors (assuming the parts are good quality), it's usually due to uneven pad deposits on the rotos and (more often than not) the deposits are due to driving styles that aggressively use the brakes...
As another poster mentioned rotors typically don't warp, but instead they become thicker in places due to excessive brake pad material deposits. Try performing a typical brake pad bed in procedure (for or five 60-5mph runs braking as hard as you...
I just towed a 4000 lb boat from Michigan to Minnesota. It towed really easy I thought, even spent a fair amount of time in 6th gear, and went 70 the whole way. Got around 10 mpg though  Of course with my current setup I wouldn't get...
Many radios will turn off automatically after a period of time. My ham radios do this, and it is an adjustable setting. My Yeasu was set at 2 hours from the factory. Might be worth checking the Midland for that feature, would allow you to wire it...
Well, I finally 'got one' the other day.
I was stopped at a light and I saw a guy in the car to my left waving to get my attention. 'How the ____ did you get that thing over here?', he asked. I could tell he was excited about it as there are...
