Anyone have any thoughts/opinions on gas mileage? Wondering if there may be some increase over the K02's/worth considering over the Falkens (kind of seems like the default competitor).
Going from 20" OEM size Michelin Defender to Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrains, I'd say I lost ~2mpg. Pretty standard from going from street tires to all terrain.
I have 285/70/17 on a stock 2013 LX. I had to remove the front mud flaps (takes minutes) and did NO OTHER modifications. The wheels I'm running are 17" x 8.5" +25mm so a bit more poke than the Rock Warriors you are thinking about. My experience below will be the absolute most rubbing you may...
Don't be afraid to walk away/eat the cost of a flight if it's not "the one." Honestly any car being a rental would be a bit of a turn off. With the way people treat them....
Who the heck even buys a land cruiser to rent out? Seems like a terrible car to make money on lol.
I just drove back from Denver, CO to Kansas City (so completely flat). I filled up with premium (91) because I was doing some driving in the mountains.
Full tank heading East at virtually 85mph the entire way on cruise control. Did the math (not adjusted for tire size just miles) and got...
Roadtrip to Pike's Peak, Breckenridge, and Denver this past week. Even got to drive up one of the ski lift roads in Breckenridge. Lots of rain but a walk in the park for an LX approaching 200K miles!
A few other things to note:
I scrolled through the comments and the new wheel is NOT heated. He says his 2008 LX didn't have heated steering wheel from the factory. I have a 2013 and that is definitely something I'd want to keep.
Not sure if the wheel is OEM or aftermarket. Looking on eBay I've...
So I've recently come across this guy on YouTube during my general search for LX content - Last Line of Defense. Although he's more of a lifestyle channel, he does have a 2008-ish LX that he's done quite a few things to. Regardless of his other stuff, he does seem to take the time to do his...
Pretty wild that they take the time to do all this and have all the tooling to rebuild the engine even down to the automated gasket maker.
Whereas here in the US that thing would certainly be parted out/in a junkyard.
I wonder if there's a good amount of profit (even any?) in doing this in...
Ah, didn't realize that you weren't where the truck is. Yeah, would just go with the color/smell test.
And yes, probably would take it to another shop if you don't want to take the dealer's word for it. Or possibly try and find someone on this forum in NorCal to look at it for you.
If you're are even the slightest of handy, get under it and take a swab of the "leaking" rack and see if it's engine oil or PS fluid - easy to determine. Same with the shocks (see if they are leaking). I assume you have the capability if you're on this forum.
If the shocks are actually leaking...
