1985 FJ60 4WD indicator light in flip mode

Maybe check to see if the vacuum lines are switched on the red and blue vacuum switches. They should be mounted on the engine firewall, if I remember correctly.

FJ62 VSV Broken - Replacement Parts?

I know it's late and I can't comment on which part number it is or what it does exactly but I can say that I had to fix a broken nipple and I did so by going to the local Napa and finding the right size T-shaped vacuum connector, modifying it with a Dremel tool, and using JB weld for plastics to...

Correct Vacuum Line Placement for 4WD solenoids (VSV)? - 1989 FJ62

I recently replaced one of my 4WD VSV's per Randy's instructions here: Writeup: 1988 FJ62 4WD Solenoid fix for $17.77 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/writeup-1988-fj62-4wd-solenoid-fix-for-17-77.224061/page-9#post-13841192 I was careful to keep the vacuum lines exactly as they were before...

Part number request - vacuum switch of some kind FJ62

Spent my Sunday afternoon replacing my fuel filter and started to tackle replacing all my vacuum lines with silicone lines. As careful as I was, it wasn’t careful enough….ha. Ended up breaking a plastic nipple on a vacuum switch of some kind. Can someone let me know what part (and part number)...

FJ62; no Codes, cranks, runs on starter fluid.

That sucks. It‘s definitely hard to find mechanics willing to / competent enough to work on these rigs. Much better to do the work yourself, let alone cheaper. Once you get this sorted out you’ll have a practically new fuel delivery system so that’s a plus!

FJ62; no Codes, cranks, runs on starter fluid.

Hm. Your CEL is on which Im pretty sure means the EFI circuitry is good And all the connectors are plugged in and letting the ECU know it’s good to start. You have spark, theoretically you have air since it runs with starting fluid, so I think it would be fuel related. You have a new pump, fuel...

FJ62; no Codes, cranks, runs on starter fluid.

When you put your key into the ignition and turn it to the on position do you have a check engine light on? The battery and brake light should be on as well. You WILL NOT hear the fuel pump run at this stage because it is not designed to run at this stage (unless, of course, you force it to run...

Wire connectors under starter - 1989 FJ 62

Pretty sure that mystery white wire goes to the alternator.

    No-start (does crank) 1989 FJ62 - need input [SOLVED]

Update: I installed the new pulsation damper. I used a tiny bit of dialectic grease to get the washers to stay where they needed to be while I tightened it all up. I used a 22mm crows foot wrench. While I was in that area I was disappointed to find that the wiring harness was squished between...

    No-start (does crank) 1989 FJ62 - need input [SOLVED]

New fuel pulsation damper arrived! I’ll try and install tonight. Here’s a good read on FPD https://www.motor.com/magazinepdfs/012004_08.pdf

    No-start (does crank) 1989 FJ62 - need input [SOLVED]

Confirmed it is a leak (intermittent but when it happens it is significant) from the top of the fuel pulsation damper. I’ll order a replacement tonight. My working theory is that since I replaced the fuel pressure regulator it revealed a weakness in the pulsation damper. Maybe best practice...

FJ62 3F-E 1989 Land Cruiser - Knocking, loss of power post rebuild

I owe you all an update. I found out that the work was done under the table at a Sacramento shop Made in America Made in Japan. They allow one of their mechanics to take on work outside of normal business hours. The mechanic, Aaron N., did, of course, not accept any responsibility and tried to...
