let me know if you got one for sale. Ideally I'd like a commercial winch bumper for a future 8274 that might happen in my lifetime. I live in NM but that may or may not matter!
And what problem is this solution going to address?
The 80 valve cover has metal ridges that bottom out on the head so as to compress the gasket 'just enough'. So, once the valve cover has metal to metal onto the head, I'm not sure what the...
You bring up a good point about the shroud. The top two bolt hole tabs were broken on mine and I was limping along for years. My advice is to replace it before it becomes NLA!! Your theory about the tips slowly moving fwd and contacting the...
definitely won't hurt. I did a simple test, and drove with the hood removed for weeks. Not only did I get to watch my engine bounce around (yes, with new motor mounts) but even the coolant temps were decent. Mind you, I only did this in the...
i think i'm a hair less than 9 psi, and no ceramic coated anything. The downpipe from the turbo has a blanket, and the hot side has a blanket also. 7psi is plenty for negating the elevation hp loss and extra head room, and you'll freaking love...
sorry for the delay, but no, my turbo isn't water cooled. But, yes, this $$$ RD radiator dropped the coolant temp from 215+ (w/o a/c running) going up to my house from work, to 200 or under consistently. Did you think for a second I had $1600...
I have a turbo so a RD radiator was a no brainer for me. Let me put things into perspective as to how effective this radiator is at pulling out the heat.....you know that ball cooling vent we got below the steering column? My a/c is so cold, I...
Welcome to Mud. :flipoff2:
Those Tcase switches just need a little TLC. Unscrew them out of the holes, then use a continuity meter across the leads while you rapidly depress the balls at the end. If that doesn't clean up the contacts, slap a...
Installed some Ironman caster brackets. This is my pavement pounder 80 so not worried about the ground clearance. Fairly easy install if you've got some mechanical skills and perhaps a big ratchet strap. The 2nd side is much easier to...
I finished up with the wind fairing v3.0, finally! Every version made it quieter on the hwy, and I've finally achieved what I've been shooting for, zero wind noise from the roof area.
The rains has done a great job at making the weeds grow on my property, and now I can't find my car parts easily :hillbilly: . If anyone has one I can borrow/rent, lmk! Trying to save $50/day rental fee at Home Depot.
Thanks.
FWIW I tighten new studs just about gorilla tight, not enough to snap or twist them, but all the way down until the unthreaded section is fully seated
into the threaded hole ie: I don't stop as soon as the unthreaded portion first hits the edge...
Everyone has their own process but for those that haven't done it before here's one method for installing these studs, FWIW.
Before installing new studs it helps to super clean (old/dirty) threads, run a thread cleaning tap down the hole, clean...
My solution was to get the ARP studs and nuts from Front Range off road and torque to 110lbft. I do rechecks after adventurous rock crawling but only a few degrees of angle have I ever found one loose a few times. As an A&P I’m a believer in...
