What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Installed Slinky stage 1 lift and Delta VS arms. Still need to do brake lines, but I'm going to wait until the holocough is over and can get some help bleeding them.

    New LX450 Owner

So after being a happy owner for a couple months I hit a pretty good sized deer. Bumper gone, drivers fender smashed to hell. So.... luckily the insurance company didn't try to total it and I'll be upgrading my bumper sooner than planned. the body shop quoted a new fender, but I didn't think...

    Gas Milage

I'm averaging 15.5-16mpg in my 97. Stock gears with 315s. Commuting over the coast range. Compensated using gps mileage. That said, I get 10% more than most people with my diesel Cummins on this route too. I drive pretty mellow and its all 60-65mph on cruise the whole way.

Anyone know if anyone on mud sells front mudflaps anymore?

    New LX450 Owner

Thanks for the ideas. Sounds like a skidplate should definitely make the short list. The running boards are coming off for sure. Trying to get some front mud flaps now. What I really need to do is find the ground loop in my stereo I installed. I think I need to ditch the factory amp because...

    New LX450 Owner

Hi all. Joined the 80 club. Have 2 40s but wanted something a little safer for the little ones but still able to have some fun. Its a 97 LX450 with 120k miles. Great interior, some scratches but nothing major. It is completely stock except 1" spacers on 35s (315s). Have the stock wheels and...

    FJ60 Electrical issues

Start it up and check your voltage level on your reg. Boiling battery sounds like a changing system issue. I would suspect your reg and/or alternator is bad. Don't know if a 60 has reg internal to the alternator or separate? Imagine its separate.

    Welded Rear End

Yes I have looked into out boarding quite a bit. Originally that was the plan (have an fj60 front for the discs) but decided against it because I couldn't find a rear for a decent price. Now that I've got fj62 axles lines up it makes more sense to do this. Here's the other part of the...

    Welded Rear End

Picking up some fj62 axles Sunday. Definitely changed my plans a bit but ultimately it'll be a good route to go. Yes there is definitely quite a few PO oddities about this vehicle. I've been slowly fixing all them. This seems to be the last of the horrible stuff, I was so worried to pull that...

    Welded Rear End

Thanks for all the input. Looks like maybe I'll deal with the bad seals until I can find another axle... lame. Oh well one step at a time.

    Welded Rear End

Problem is rear seals are leaking too. Plus I figure would be really lame to break an axle on the trail and not be able to pull my axle out. Maybe I need to look harder for a 60 rear end. Now that I'm pounding on it a bit it looks like one c-clip will come out without too much trouble. The...

    Welded Rear End

So I've started my disc conversion on my '69 40. Using 60 discs for the front (birfs, etc) and Posers brackets are on the way for the rear. I started pulling everything apart today and found that the PO had some fun "locking" the rear (see pics). So for the life of me I can't figure out...
