The thick pyle carpet was offered in some markets, I think it was with the VX trim but not certain on that - someone will correct me. I've pulled it out of trucks from Japan and the Middle East.
It's 100% OEM but I'm not sure if it's GCC specific like the stripes and gold accents. I have personally never seen the thick carpet but that's not saying much, I've not spent a lot of time in 1991-1993 US market 80s
Wescott Design sliders came. Well packed.
Wow, the build quality of these is amazing. Clearly robotically welded. Beefy as heck.
One hole (right rearmost, on the bottom) needed to be elongated about 1mm to get the bolt in; i reported this to...
Thank you for sharing the interior. Interesting stuff and a time capsule. Looks very well taken care of. I might have missed, is shag type carpet standard in that region or added on because the customers preferred it?
I am waiting on parts today so I decided to give the 80 a good interior deep clean.
I've never seen a truck like this with the thick pile carpet
This truck's interior is in absolute remarkable condition. Very little wear. The Saudis are...
First things first.....gotta sort out the tires.
I buzzed down to 49Tire today and had them install some 285/75-16 Yokohama X-ATs.
Again, this thing drives fantastic. We are rearranging the suspension on this one when I start in on this...
Aug 17 with only 44K miles.
Automatic, quad cab, 4x4. A basic truck.
I needed a proven truck to back up my 89 Jeep Wagoneer repowered with a Cummins 4bt.
This thing arrived filthy. It stayed at the port too long and was unloaded from the container so it sat and got nasty.
I took it to town for a wash and gas.
They left me 2.5 gallons in the main
and three in the aux tank.
First...
while we are all waiting to see the vx on nolen’s trailer, please check out the GX frame/body restoration. This truck is in the usa port right now

That reminds me of the Fj cruiser inner fender tears/cracks that were common in the early years before they supposedly altered how the fenders were made to strengthen them.
I am trying to think of a vender that had a solution for the Fj cruisers...
OK. I did not burn it.
It cranked and drove. That's always a fear upon delivery.
Wesley gave me a white glove tour of his beachfront state park. Phenomenal. If you are in the area check out Camp Helen State Park
If you see this guy, hide...
Turns out the booster rod was way out of whack. No idea how it worked before it got here. Brakes are perfect now.
Great ride into town for gas. Gave it a tank full of 93. It was down to one gallon. Barely made it.
Runs superb. 3000ish RPM...
I thought I had this thing done yesterday but I had a whistle coming out of the Holley adapter. It was not enough to effect the idle but even my deaf ass could hear it.
If I pulled down on the air cleaner slightly the whistle went away.
So...
Someone parked their LX next to my LX at the zoo yesterday and probably thought I wouldn’t care to notice. The OTM Cruiser sticker on the back gave it away.
