Hi; does anyone have a good way to get in touch with the Bowfin Cruisers folks? Need to order a replacement latch and haven’t been about to connect with them…thx
The truck has always been garaged under my ownership and never exposed to salted roads. I hope the price is fair. I have not seen many other LHD units for sale. I have a few thousand more, approximately $42K invested since purchase and have...
Very cool! Thanks for sharing this. My HZJ-73 has the adjustable lamps, and they are getting long in the tooth. I didn't even try looking for replacements because I assumed they would be unavailable.
Never assume........
Just wanted to share my DIY, at home with basic tools, not-an-engineer, armrest solution. Leather upholstery sold separately.
First, I bought one of these, widely available on multiple online marketplaces as a universal armrest. Then I shaved...
@orangefj45 Valley Hybrids does as well. That’s 3! I put a blue marking for torque and a yellow for checking the torque again. But then again I’m not shop. 😀
Refreshed the suspension on the BJ74 over the last couple days,
Terrain Tamer parabolic leafs (thanks George and Roarke!),
5.8” shackles and U-bolt flip kits from MAF,
& cheap and longer BDS shocks for now.
I was able to clean up and reuse the...
Used my the 8274 to pull out a horse trough I buried about 10 years ago. It was a planter to contain bamboo that only survived a few years. It was pulling the truck, with three wheels blocked. Initially tried 'lifting' it with the snatch block...
Defied the laws of physics yesterday...must have had a tailwind.
I was not able to confirm with a cell-phone app. But I was passing people on the freeway, something that rarely happens.
couple of thing... Custom snorkel and installing the electrical on the EATON F/R lockers. I replaced the bulky, messy wiring with a 3 relay block (2 will serve the lockers and 1 the lights) and adding the OEM switches with potted connected...
It's a cavitation problem in the crank, so they need regular replacement. Oil analysis will show anything loose, but it won't show a chunk of bearing material that's fatigued and about to let go.
Change them every 100,000km.
I believe I read it here on Mud somewhere, that the hybrid drivetrains are either optimized for economy or performance. Examples of the Prius and the LC250 are the bookends for this idea and all other models dropped in somewhere in between...
Here is how I think of it. It’s not a hybrid, at least how you are thinking of it. It’s a gas engine with an electric motor for some extra torque and HP. Helps with responsiveness, etc. But its not a hybrid, like a Prius or something.
Thanks for a reply to my original question. That's a great point.
I do have a couple of friends with 250's that work them pretty hard off road, and they love em. These are guys that have had trucks from 40 series on up.
I'm not worried about...
Ignore the 200 trolls. The 250/550 is awesome.
Lift your truck. Only a dealer who's been living under a rock would be thrown by a lift. Around here half of all vehicles from Subarus to F350s get lifted five minutes after driving off the lot...
Oh, man. Knowing (and seeing) this now, if I were you, I would not even hint at moving her from a 200 to a GX. Unless, of course, you are looking for BIG trouble. LOL.
