New U-bolt plates and bump can mounts tacked up. U-bolt plates are double-layered 1/2” steel. The section sticking out is where the bump stop is going to contact. Hopefully doesn’t bend too much, it is 1” thick there.

I think that you will like your vents on the outer edge of the dashboard. I only have the center vents and the center stays nice and cool but the outside is hot.
