It will definitely decrease acceleration and braking performance. That said, the transmissions in these 100s is darn solid compared to those in american pickemups with oversize tires that typically fail well before 200k miles.

Thats a tough one - possible result of water intrusion to kick panel harness connectors. Either side potentially.
One of mine had a similar issue after a rain until i had the windshield replaced with oem glass and trim molds.
You certain its the starter?
If so, Long ways to go from the looks of it - but you’ll want to pull the injectors and replace the o rings and grommets while you’re doing the starter otherwise they may leak when you get it all buttoned up. Been...
Ask your insurance co to cover oem and you may get it. Also, there are trim Molds on the sides that are expensive if you get oem. Make sure your installer is familiar with the rivets.

Those are several years old and may have been replaced but should get you close
