Are you taking about the wastegate? Metal, has a port for a vacuum hose on the top center and a threaded rod on the bottom side that controls the veins of the turbo? The vacuum pot or vacuum canister is usually mounted on a fender well or part...

If you switch over to the BRM intake manifold with race pipe it sits slightly lower (also believe it flows almost as well as a pd150 intake) and you'll lose the hunk of metal where your EGR formerly attached.

If I'm not mistaken the 3.4 input shaft is about 11 inches long vs about 9 for the 3.0.

I stood my engine straight up and down (0 degrees) and used the TD conversion specialist clocking adapter to help with that. The 2 inch body lift and diff drop kit also helped with under hood space. I'm guessing I could have cleared the front...

I wasn't going to suggest openly to delete the abs, but it it was mine it would have dual diaphragm pump, Chevy 1 ton master cylinder and 4 wheel disks. I love my 4 wheel disks although the parking brakes suck. Then again the transfer case drum...

The steering adapter shouldn't be too difficult. I used some adapters from I think the speed shop, a few feet of power steering hose and reusable fittings to make the hoses to adapt the VW power steering pump to my steering box. I didn't have...

This has so many variables but to keep it simple: You can weed out every wire running to the original engine from the ECU except the alternator excite wire, the oil pressure gauge wire and water temp gauge wire. You'll need to reuse your...

Im glad it's working out for you. My set up with the 4 wheel disk brakes stops better than our fancy disco 2 with all the ABS nonsense. Really fun rigs to daily!

After doing a little driving around today I have to say this combo of the 4runner master cylinder from @dohcdelsol93 the Dual diaphram Booster and my fancy spacers, paired with the fj40 (1980) rotors and the v6 calipers.. this thing stops very well.

Bumper is on and it seems like some of thr bulbs in the back might be the originals for the rear turn and backup lights.

Doors are mostly done. For now at least. Its been a long time since I made door cards and I went at it very differently this time so I will see how I like it later. At the moment they are easy to make so I can change it later. I got the dome...

The 91% rubbing alcohol (cheap from Walmart) will also get water out of your tank. However, it won't stop that leak from going boom if she should find a heat source. Flash point being somewhere around negative 43 degrees.

I've never gotten my hands on a decent shaped center console. This was my solution for my 1st Gen 4 runner. Could apply to 2nd Shifter from a 90s model taco. Moved my switches to the dash above radio. Ammo can that locks (soft top). I suck at...

It's right at 40 bucks in ice 2025. That's enough for about 2 coolers.

Someone from Pittsburgh would call that surface rust. If the frame is good cut it out, weld in new metal. Spray bedline the skirt of the cab as rust is likely to pop up in other areas. It also helps cover imperfections on less than perfect...

Add boost to your AC when temperatures get to 100°. Settings on recirculate by level Max AC. It's colder than it's ever been.

If you can use 17s the tire selection seems to be much better, from my suppliers anyway.

For my backing I used lawn equipment pre filters. The old twin 600cc hondas gc620 iirc (flat panel panel, not Donaldson af style)had huge ones but for smaller parts I used whatever fit. Cleaned all the old foam off with a wire wheel grinder...

While I'm not s.a.s. I found my ome rear leafs took forever to get right, eventually having removed two leafs from each pack. Based on my time with fj60s and 40s I felt the rear springs would eventually settle and drop and inch or two. Over...
