Yes. Somewhere out in the online world is a thread by a guy that goes by the name "speedkar99" where he shows how to change the mileage on the eeprom. Instead of reprogramming your eeprom just swap your old one into the new cluster.

No, I am pretty sure that one is a DIP package. I would think it is easier to replace the eeprom than the LCD

So I could buy another gauge set and pluck the old chip out of my gauges and pop into the new gauges? You sure that's it? I know where there's a set of gauges at.

Its an eeprom in the cluster. Should be a 93c56. Easy to swap.

Most likely surface soldered? Any ideas if I can repair that LCD instead?
