Thanks for all the replies! Heat must be the key. Was worried about firing up the oxy torch next to the windshield, with glass, rubber etc. in close proximity, but ordered the induction heater off Amazon. Will report back

Don't do it. I rolled a beautiful 60 after losing a shock in Moab.

My old 60 jalopy hates oil and tries to get rid of it any way it can. By the time I check it it's usually at least a quart or more low. Thought this thing would blow up soon after I bought it. That was 15 years ago now.
