Honestly just leave it and only install a new one if you live in a bad area or are in need of a remote start. otherwise save the money and use it towards another mod on your truck ( new headunit or door speakers ! for example )

for them removing it and then reinstalling an entire new alarm into it.. that actually sounds really reasonable to me.

Check the little clamps or like rubber stoppers on the inner portion above the tail lights and make sure those line up, maybe it was loose at a point and the right side is higher than the left pushing the rear upper tailgate portion up.

honestly my opinion on this has changed while in the process of hunting down 80's to buy. ive seen low miles one completely $hit and higher mileage ones in nicer condition. What ive learned is to not be afraid of the high mileage ones as long as the come with a nice book of records and upkeep...

but you dont have that status of owning a classic such as a land cruiser and to me a pretty ugly interior >.< lol

probably a loose bulb or the bulb that is fastened in there is on its last leg. have fun replacing them it is a pain in the a$$ removing the Wiring harnesses from the climate control unit.. did it myself and cursed like a sailor lol
