Super happy it’s at the finish line. Thankfully no flies landed on the clear coat.

Look up from under the floor - there should be a heat shield bolted to the underside of the tub, between the frame rails. at the back of the truck. If you are going to put lizard skin or some other type of insulation, put it on the back side of...

There is this sticker below the windshield that I want to remove but they are too old to peel off and I dont want to damage the paint trying to remove them. If anyone has suggestions how I could get those off?

It still has the bottle jack under the driver seat and I gifted the spare tire cover to a fellow mudder over in the Veterans Highway.

Missing the rear jump seats but the seat belts are still there. One thing I've noticed after driving it a little, the floor in the back gets hot from the exhaust piping. I don't think the dog will like that. I was told that "Lizard Skin"...

Which I replaced with one from Summit until I can have the original repaired and put back in.

The only immediate issue was a hole in the radiator.

What a way to start the year. I picked this up Jan 1st. I bought this from the son of the original owner. 1974 with 11k on the odometer (500 miles on a rebuilt motor). Who knows how many times that rolled over since he said it was his mothers...

I've had an FJ60 thermostat housing sitting in my shop for a while now, to go on my 40. I prefer the four-bolt seal of the 60 housing, and consider it an upgrade to the stock 40 housing. My 40 is not a resto; I have installed various later...

I know the Thermo Housing isn't correct, but works enough for me. I did look for a true replacement and they're a bit pricy just for that when this one works. The stamp looks like 2F-317640 and the block casting number is 81005, which I take as...

All new gaskets and seals! Since I had it out and easily accessible, might as well make sure. The same for the Transmission and Transfer Case. The block color is Copper. I gave it a coat of engine primer and thought the copper would go well...

That block color turned out nice. Question for you did you replace the gaskets and seals or just give it the fresh coat of paint?

Just checking in ... I've read numerous threads over the past few years, figured I'd just join as a member. I bought my 74 FJ40 about 10yrs ago, briefly drove it here and there, but it needed work! Typical "life things" happened that delayed me...

What about this rally and the year 1986? I recognize this vintage badge "58" in Japanese Kanji The back of the jacket
    • airon23
I bought this jacket from a street wear company called HUF that did a recent apparel collab with Land Cruiser. I really like the jacket and thinks it's super cool, but I'm embarrassed to admit I don't actually know the significance or meaning...

Maybe there WAS a set screw in that hole, now it's just rusted on. Give the hole a drop of Kroil every day for a week and try to unscrew it.

Since I’m doing an early 1960s 40 build, I recently picked up an early 40 cowl for its dash. I’ve removed everything but this early “Defrost” dash knob assembly. Need help getting it off so I can remove the whole assembly. Knob has an access...
