Hi
Im running my KZJ78 on 33 12.5 R15 on steel wheels. Im planning to move in to alloys with same tyre set. What you guys think, if I can fix them in to my stock 7inch alloy wheels? Will it looks better? Or do I need to move in to another wider...
Refreshed the suspension on the BJ74 over the last couple days,
Terrain Tamer parabolic leafs (thanks George and Roarke!),
5.8” shackles and U-bolt flip kits from MAF,
& cheap and longer BDS shocks for now.
I was able to clean up and reuse the...
When I was on my trip in May, I made contact with a Canyon wall. Not only did it take out my rear wrap around window, but it also left several dents just under it. I'm currently waiting for my Cruiser Co gullwing window, but the dents remain...
Got started on some new brake lines. I should've waited a bit though, at least the hoses will have to come back off in a couple days for cutting off the spring plates, and then maybe again for welding on new ones. The clamps are the wrong way...
WHY WE CONTINUE TO PUT ON THIS EVENT……..
* This was the last post from our friend and fellow organizer in 2023. (The last event he was able to attend).
I bought a booster for a 1990 Us spec 80 series.
Used the same model’s master cylinder.
I had to add a third vacuum reservoir since the dual diaphragm takes very big gulps of air.
I added 4runner front calipers and pads too.
Took mini dump truck to a new shop for state inspection.
They had what I think is an HZJ73 they were working on.
They say they would not be afraid to try working on my 13BT if needed.
This is the only shop in the area that seems willing.
I think it's more that they used several 'full size' Land Cruiser parts on the 8" axle - same hubs, swivel bearings, front wheel bearings, half shafts sometimes crossed over. It's really just the differential unit itself which is smaller.
Can you get the board out? What's on it?
Simple circuit boards like this can be recreated or even be repaired by removing the insulation laque, soldering in some bridges over the crack and insulated again.
Cheers Ralf
I know for sure that the 60 Series and the solid axle N105/106 (1988 to 1997) Hilux use the same Birfields, and late 40 Series and early 70 Series are likely the same.
Thank you Scubasoober for your question.
Update:
Exactly, it will start and then stall with the MAIN tank fuel supply BUT it will start and run without issue on SUB tank supply.
So I am guessing I have a MAIN fuel tank pump issue?
Cheers...
When I was prepping my 1HZ for a lap of Australia — including some of the most remote and longest tracks in the country — I decided to go overboard on preventative maintenance. My thinking was simple: spend the time and money now so I wouldn’t be...
Fitted the patched gas tank and the best seats I have left to the 69 - will repair the original passenger bench one day. The wiring on this one is very original and the switches and relays have all responded to some tlc so far, except the low...
Is it just me, or is time moving faster every year?? 🤔
Too many projects, not enough time. BUT - I like to prioritize family, so we took the family camping(glamping?) 4 hours away to a waterslide and theme park for a week.
I also took the...
If the fan does work at all settings, then it is not likely the resistor. I would take the time to pull the fan motor and clean it all out, make sure the ducting is clean and connected properly. Clean out/replace the cabin filter and test...
Today I put US license plates on my HZJ77!
I brought it back from Japan and I have to say this is a major accomplishment for me. About a fifteen years ago I fell in love with 70 series Land Cruisers but figured I'd never have one as an...
Thanks mate
I took the plunge and a new Protex 4WD dual diaphragm brake booster (300 AUD delivered) that (hopefully) fits the BJ74
I'll report back on how it goes ....
