Thanks, that was my thought too. I have a 71 40 and it looked similar except for the linkage. The PO had damaged the original carburetor. I just wanted some confirmation.
Just run with the rebuild kit for a '70. The 70-74 carbs are the same fundamentally with variations in jetting. Interestingly enough, it has '73 linkage.
Open it up and see, if its a '70 it will have 112 primary, 200 secondary, 90 power valve...
By the code 0 K 26 would guess 1970 "0" November "K" 26th one made that model. 1960 would be a one barrel carburetor. 1980 would have a stud out of the top for air cleaner. K is the 11th number in the alphabet equalling November..
Thanks to @DangerNoodle for giving me some mounting ideas on how to mount it, I made some mounts with some rubber isolators.
I really struggled with how to get this cooling stack to fit in the small space on a 40!!! This is not the final...
Unfortunately for my time and pocket book, it was pretty easy for @DirtSniffer to talk me into buying one of these.... Truth be told, I am not sure why I overlooked these over the years.... I should be thanking Dan for showing them to me. lol. We...

You can replace the wires or just the ends easily. To me, I'd evaluate it's actual function first, then you can worry about aesthetics. For what it's worth, I've run GM HEI's in F and 2F engines as well as V8s and they work great. I use Davis...
Yup, that looks like crap. But you knew it was a big piece of non-OEM crappy blue plastic when you ordered it.
Or is it just the plug wires you don't like?
Wow, what a poor response and solution. I looked at their unit a few weeks ago and bought a chinneesium Declo off Amoron for like $110 that matched my numbers for my very loose unit that was on my 72 when I got it in 82. I plan to make new...
I just purchased a Manafre HEI distributor for my 1971 FJ40. It comes with plug wires. When I received my distributor it came with two different styles of plug wires. I know this might sound petty, but it looks like crap. I reached out to Manafre...
