That's why I had to replace mine with a single hose - it started weeping. Since I was replacing a dead injector, I had the top intake off (replaced vsv and all the little hoses under it) and so a perfect opportunity to access PHH#1 (the bypass is...
I had to replace mine since it's supercharged and the original install uses a barb to join to the hose to extend to the relocated throttle body. I replaced mine with a single hose.

There's more details that 'may' be useful -> Injector...
Wanted to share if it helps someone. My '97 LX acted like it didn't want to shift into drive recently after backing out of the driveway. The shift lever was fine, but it revved only. Dropped into L and it was fine, then shifted back up into D...
Post number is right there on the right top of each post. This is common with most forums. E.g. below is an example - the post you just made above this one is #32.

Well, my original rs3000 finally needs replacing. I had previously extended the antenna wire and that worked great for many years, but it has been losing more and more range. It's not the remotes, both behave the same and transmit a nice strong...
OMG man message me I owe you a beer or drink . It steers like a dream now !!!!!!! I noticed the old belt had the power steering pump adjusted all the way to the top and it was a gates belt too . So there was no more increasing the tension on it ...
Exactly right. Picture without gasket installed. You can see the lips/ridges where the valve cover bolts live. The bolts are on the outside of the gasket and the lips/ridges allow the cover to bottom out onto the head with appropriate pressure...
The rubber is there to seal the bolt against a hole that'd otherwise allow oil to blow out. On the 1FZ, the sealing rubber gasket is inside of the bolt circle, so no sealing is needed. The rubber won't do anything to keep it from backing out...
And what problem is this solution going to address?
The 80 valve cover has metal ridges that bottom out on the head so as to compress the gasket 'just enough'. So, once the valve cover has metal to metal onto the head, I'm not sure what the...
Don't know, may just be a friction fit. I just know that it normally rests against the flat part of the valve cover to protect the hose from potentially rubbing. See if it sits in place when you move it.
I'm sure Cdan or Beno can provide exact...
I run a 14 GPH, 45 degree stainless steel oil-fired boiler nozzle with a 90 PSI Flojet demand pump.
I've only had it for ~22 years so I can't comment on long-term operation.
I think bypassing the hardline is a good idea. Since the heater valve is mounted to the body, the short hose/hardline scheme pushes/pulls on the heater valve every time the engine torques on the engine mounts. This certainly can't help an aging...
Or, buy a couple feet of gates green stripe or even white strip hose and two constant torque clamps like Breeze offers and use this to run from the head outlet up to the heater valve eliminating one hose and two clamps and the steel pipe...
Great news!! I am up and running. I want to wholeheartedly thank everyone here, Tim from Colorado Toyota repair, and the awesome guys at Cruisers and Company. I had to step away from working on it to save my sanity, brought it to them (they got...
Follow on from yesterday and removing the old faulty booster.
Got the new booster set up, installed clevis to match position on original. Verified the master cylinder spacing of the booster nozzle/pin (whatever it is actually named). Was spot on...
Those straight 6 TD engines should have come in EVERY land cruiser. Puts the petrol engines to shame! I consider the 4.5L TDi V8 as an inferior performer with too much modern complexity for the bush.
