You could go with a new 2.5 inch lift. Terrain Tamer @orangefj45 George provides a new style for leaf spring you might want to check out. Most likely though even with a 2.5 lift the ride will get stiffer. I would reccommend having someone simply...
So here is a bit of an update. Friday I had some time to work on her. Took the old fuel pump off because it wasn't holding a prime. @orangefj45 and Justin Robins both said it has to be a fuel pump issue as to why it wasn't working. I got a new to...
Things got really pretty really fast as we got off of pavement. This gradually became one of the roughest trails I've ever been on. Despite destroying two camp showers, spilling gasoline on gear, snapping a bolt on my trailer rack, breaking the...
My family used to have a little place in the town of Ennis, Montana. We drove up there from Colorado quite a few times over the years, hastily traversing Wyoming on the way. For years I gazed at those mountain ranges across Wyoming and wanted to...
Well, got most everything ordered for the trans/t-case refresh. (Thanks @orangefj45 Georg) with the exception of the fluids and tubes of goo. Doing the oil pan gasket and RMS as well for good measure.
About to leave for a round of work trips, 4...
Call Georg at Valley Hybrids, ask him to build you a kit using FJ60 knuckles and swap onto your existing axle housings. Youll be much happier than one of the kits that use Chevy junk.
@orangefj45
Thanks for taking the time to post this and for the kind words!
Please let us know how you like the suspension and ride quality once you get a few miles on your 40.
Looks great!!!!!

I was going from a 4"BDS (?) suspension with 3 1/4" anti inversion shackles and the Bilstein 5100s (2-4" lift, I really liked them actually even with the BDS springs). The overall goal was to lower it down a little to get the drive line angles a...
Thanks @Jonathan Hanson for opening this thread and giving us a nice write up and first exposure (in the states) to the new Terrain Tamer kit. Also big thanks to Georg and Co @orangefj45 for importing and supplying the kit! Tell Mitchell thanks...
Another happy customer!
Sits nice and level, rides much smoother, and nice complete kit. Rear axle definitely came forward compared to the old ranchos.
Now I have to find a way to mount the steering damper to my Saginaw/1 ton linkage...

@BullHab I had decided not to update my springs under a recent series of big upgrades. Questioning the wisdom of that decision since I am driving it so much more. I will be looking forward to your review among the many I have read so far. I...
Looking forward to your update and pics!!!
