Ran Slick Rock trail this weekend. Honu took it like a champ! But slick rock was no joke. Definitely some challenging sections. And I ripped another section of fender flare off. Sadly I think they may be not long for this world...
My Rubithon 2025 scorecard:
17 days away from home.
6180 miles driven from driveway to driveway towing an M416 with my 1997 LX450. She drank an additional 2 quarts of oil for the round trip. I can live with that.
Damage: Scratched the...
While inspecting my rig for damage post rubicon I found this pretty gnarly damage to both rear shock piggyback reservoirs. It looks like the body of the shocks had rotated, and the res was making contact with the axle housing or lower control arm...
Thank you Doug! Had a great time and will definitely be back to the Rubicon and Rubithon! Best part was meeting everyone in our group! :steer: 🍻

Conquered the Con! Attended the TLCA Rubithon last weekend. What an amazing event, and very proud of Honu for her accomplishments making it through the Rubicon. Definitely the most challenging wheeling I've ever done, and she handled it like a champ!
Nice! No unfortunately I'm rolling solo on this trip, or with a buddy. Girls got some camps lined up for summer, plus we just got a new puppy last week, so it's a bit crazy right now.
Hoping to get the fam out on some trails later this summer...

Copy that, we'll be subject to that construction on our thurs morning route from breakfast at ice house to the loon entrance will we not?
Edit: I'm not super familiar with the area, I guess what I'm asking is there a better place to park a truck...
Logistical question for a first timer... trailer and truck parking? I'm planning on trailering the 80 up, is there a good place to park and unload at Ice House? I know a lot of folks do it at the Rubicon trail head, but that's a good ways past...
Also just had a pretty fun Land Cruiser related road trip. Buddy of mine @willywalnuts2025 picked up a 2000 LC from a listing we found here on Mud. Flew out to Salt Lake City and met the owner, struck a deal in a parking lot by the airport and...
Did a full Power steering fluid flush using the raventai method. Pretty simple process overall, and man was that old fluid nasty. Looked like cowboy coffee in there. Used pure hydraulic fluid as the replacement, Mobil DTE 24. All buttoned up with...
