My son's 2016 SR5. He got got it second hand (I think, maybe 3rd hand, not sure) a few years ago while still in high school. Now he is in college and only drives it when he comes back home on vacation.
I think it has a 3" lift, Dobinson springs...
I have chased this problem on my 80 for years. Took it to several mechanics. I had a lot of parts replaced plus timing done twice.
The last mechanic figured out it was the MAF sensor.
Replaced and it ran worse. Sent it back and got another one...
A member here managed to swap in an 8 speed transmission.
I am posting the link here in case anyone needs to see the process and parts used (especially the ECU - TCU interface using another computer)...
