I was under my LC spraying some nuts & bolts in preparation for removal when I spotted a hose just hanging out. It’s on the driver’s side next to the transmission.
Here’s some pictures for reference ( I tried to take pictures of the top of the transmission thinking there was a place for it, but no luck getting my phone in the right spot for pictures) Anyone know where it goes? It has a clamp slide back a couple inches and clamp marks on the end, so it was clamped on something….

Transmission vent; it goes on top of the case, into a plastic nipple.

Thanks! Any idea what its for?
Transmissions, differentials, and other parts of vehicles have air inside them. The air can heat up and expand, or cool and shrink. These parts need vents to let air in and out, otherwise fluid would blow past seals, or other problems would arise.

Folks who like to drive through deep water will often extend these vents up somewhere higher.
