1975 BJ40 -- 'the duck'
Howdy mud, It's time to move on and see this great vehicle off to a new owner. It's been about 10 years since I picked this beauty up in Costa Rica and drove it home to the US. It's been a project for me and my father since. So, on to the fun stuff! It's got a 13B-T/H55 (5 Speed). You can hit highway speeds in the US finally. You're welcome. No EPA bull****, it's exempt here because of the vehicles age when I imported it. You can stop now with 4 wheel disc brakes and power steering. Aussie locked rear. Warn 24v winch. I've got a laundry list of other work, but that nails down the important stuff. My dad is a gung-ho marine and he did the body & paint and tires & wheels. I'd be happy to provide any additional info about the build...
1963 FJ40 FST
$4500 FST No title bill of sale only too nice to part in my opinion. Would make a great patina ride without the top/ doors that are on it. Vader light 6 wheels with 2 hubcaps Tailgate for FST Tub is really clean old steel doesn’t rust as bad Has different year top and doors Was running before owner passed. Going to fire it tomorrow and take a video good patina ride candidate willing to do $3500 cash and a TPI complete running motor with accessories (No harness) and a th400 running In trade or $4500 cash. Open to offers from mud guys if reasonable. I know I can get money out of parting it but I don’t wan to.
Looks like this could potentially make a good project; price is $750, looks like the parts alone would add up to at least that much https://denver.craigslist.org/pts/d/parker-1970-toyota-fj40-chassis/7206618379.html Ad says: 1970 Toyota FJ40 chassis Frame appears to be straight good axles with old disc brake conversion fuel tank, marker lights, windshield, wiper motor, pedals, etc. comes with clear title
South Dakota, Fj40 crawler project.
The Good: 1970 Fj40 Crawler Project. A lot of good parts, 4 link rear with King coil overs, front suspension sprung under custom Alcan springs, Psc powersteering, high steer setup, 4.10 axle gears, I was told rear is welded. Metal tech cage, metal tech fenders and rocker guards, Grant steering column, Dolphin gauges, 350 with TBI injection. Corbeau seats with 5 point harness. Rear disk brakes and fj60 front rotors. Tom woods drive shafts. Tub and body parts are very straight and little rust to speak of. Comes with rollers but will throw in some 36inch swampers. The Bad: No title, I was told it used to have a th350 auto trans, I have an Sm420 and three speed case and adapter that will go with the truck. You will need a bell housing...
Price listed is $17,000 (unrealistic): no affiliation but I think this one might have potential as a patina restore if someone bought it who knows how to weld. I spoke to the seller, he was not sure on pricing as he is trying to sell it for a relative. He indicated there may be room for price negotiation. If I knew how to weld and paint I think i would take this one on because it looks to be 100% complete and all original paint, etc. and a great color to boot... https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/cto/d/minneapolis-1969-toyota-land-cruiser-ll/7194637504.html

1976 Rustic Green FJ40 factory soft-top spec. Make offer
It's a '76 out of AZ and CA with records of oil changes and documented miles. Looks to have been repainted in the 90's to red from its original green and the upholstery recovered but aside from that its mostly original.. Has the cool under jump seat conn fer storage boxes, rear heater, CB, original soft top, original shift knob, original rubber floor mat and ignition. There is the rust spot left rear corner and under the driver door I sanded away and it’s metal.. otherwise it is very straight. $14k. Work is being done as we speak. I couldn’t let it sit with the spots so the whole thing is being sandblasted next week and taken back to original rustic green. See more..
Not mine but wish I had the cash/time/space to go get it. Man I'm fighting the urge. It's my birth year too that I initially wanted, but I do have my 76 so it'll have to wait. Please someone here go buy it so I won't have the chance. I've seen waaaaay less for waaay more than this FJ40. Post update if you do. https://reno.craigslist.org/cto/d/winnemucca-1979-toyota-fj40/7192156050.html
I want to buy an FJ- 40 to drive a lot and take on trails. Nothing too ruff. I am 15 at the moment. I have 10k saved up and can borrow 2-3k from my parents. I’m getting 4K saved each year from 4-H and I have 3 years left. I could care less less about comfort. I know they are really dangerous so I’ll also be driving a Dodge Dakota. should I get one now and put some money and time in it. Or should I wait a while and I buy a polished one?
Hi, I am looking to buy an FJ40, original paint or proof of body repair done with proper methods ie no body filler / bondo Original 2F engine and drive train, not looking for a v8 conversion 100% stock would be perfect but willing to consider all. 1976 - 1983 model years, US LC's only, no SA or CA imports Budget is $10k - $35k, cash buyer. Any color fine. Thank you
1978 Mustard Yellow FJ40/Northern Virginia
It’s with a bit of regret I am listing my 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Life dictates that I need to pass this awesome truck along to someone who will finish the work that I started on it. I am intending to try to sell this as a complete package, so I am not interested for now in selling any of the piece-parts independent of the truck. Full Album is here: FJ40 I have no idea what the market looks like anymore, so I’m putting it out there, complete, at $9,500. The truck is located on a Navy base in the middle of God’s nowhere (Dahlgren, VA), so I’m willing to video chat or Zoom or whatever with interested folks. If we work it out, and you give me some good-faith money or something, I’d be willing to trailer it within a reasonable...
Saskatchewan Canada 1972 Toyota FJ40
For sale is my 1972 Toyota FJ40 with the F155 gasoline engine and a 3 speed floor shift manual transmission. I bought the truck in April of 2018 in Cranbrook British Columbia Canada and hauled it home with my trusty dodge on a U-haul car trailer. it did run when i bought it but only barely enough to crawl on the trailer. after i got it home i changed the fluids, gave it a quick tune-up and cleaned it up. it ran and drove quite well and i actually took it on a 300 mile trip to buy a front winch bumper that i installed. it was bought new at Kimbrook motors in Cranbrook B.C. and had spent it's whole life in the kootenays. it was used for backcountry hunting, fishing and that sort of thing. it has a very extensive service record for...
