Bought a 93 80 in mint condition and the 40 has to go. NEW PRICE 6,500.00
I have a new baby so the 40 must be replaced with a 62 or an 80 series, so if you have one you want to trade I am interested. My rig has an aluminum tub and no rust. The guy a bought it from put a 75 hood on it and a pre-75 windshield. I have the wiper motors and they work but they are not on the frame. The firewall forward is all 79 with the exception of the two items I listed. Also the odometer is stuck at 59K which is where it was when I bought 2 years ago. I use it primarily as a beach buggy and to haul my boat in and out of the water. There is some surface rust on the frame only, and very little of that. Here are some of the things I've done.

It has original motor and transmission with 83000 miles on it. Motor is very strong and runs great. This is not far from a full restoration vehicle. It has a new tub, new HFS suspension and springs. They were bought from COOLCRUISERS.COM - Toyota Land Cruiser Parts & Restoration The frame has been galvanized. Saginaw power steering. The right rear ambulance door needs attention, it has the typical rust at the bottom. I also have a rear tailgate for when you take the top off. Would like to sell my rig,it has the aluminum tub,soft top,and safari top. Has about 130,00 miles on it. New in the last year,head,dizzy(mallery duel points,) alternator,starter,voltage reg. It has 35s on it which need help. This rig runs great,also has new rotors and front brakes. Paint is ok,back is much better then the front.Had some rust in both fenders where you see the patch,some pitting in the lower windshield and sum rust above the kick vents. 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 DIESEL 4X4 with 48,xxx original Kilometers! This is an original 3.0L 4-Cyl Diesel 4WD offered as a Left-Hand-Drive from Canada originally. This BJ (diesel) has not been restored and is in 90-95% original condition. The exterior is unbelievably clean with only a few minor rust spots clearly shown in the pictures. The interior is exceptionally clean and the only thing worth noting would be a couple rips on the passenger seat bottom and the rubber floor mat has a tear or two. Here is a 76 I saw while driving cross town. It seems in decent shape but the car lot dude needs to get realistic with the price. He is asking $8500. Says with a little work he could sell it for $25K...we all know how that goes. Anayway...front doors were solid minus the upholstry. Rear doors were a little rusty on the bottom but for sure reapairable. Floor pans were great. Headliner was black carpet?!?! Said it ran good but it was raining on me and I didn't have much time. Take both for a mud price of $5500 O.B.O Trades considered for tractor, unimog, truck camper, etc.
I hate to do this but life changes are forcing me to sell my cruiser. I've been working on it for almost two years and am very close to finnishing. I don't have time to invest anymore but my loss can be your gain. I can furnish right at $12,000 worth of reciepts and would like to get $6,500.00 for it.
Since buying it I have repaired the body, rebuilt the axles, added a completely rebuilt 4.3 vortec engine via an Advanced Adapters kit, went through the tranny and transfer case, bought Metal Tech fenders and have installed them, bought budbuilt quarters and installed them, added 35" BFG KM2's & Dick Cepek DC1 wheels (5), built a tire carrier, bought a new gas tank, rebuilt the drum brakes, installed a 4" hellcreek suspension...

I am the 4th owner of this FJ.
It is an outstanding example of a LandCruiser!!!
This landcruiser has been gone through with a complete body off restoration and custom paint. Rock Gaurd on frame = NO frame rust. VERY Minor rust along the usual places (side of roof)
This FJ only had 56K miles on it, but it sat for so long that the rear main seal had dry rotted, this caused enough damage to the original motor that it was best to get a professionally rebuilt motor.
:steer:NEW MOTOR! Re-built by Spector Off Road in Chatsworth, CA. has 20 miles on it at the moment. The rebuilt long block was $2,700. (not incl. labor)

Original uncut FJ40 - 1970. Original paint and no rust issues - hard to find one that has not been re-painted!
Original PTO factory installed winch in good working order.
Been driving it daily around town for past eight months and have not had to top up oil or coolant.
Work I have had done:
New Clutch, new tires (BF Goodrich All Terrain) , new radiator, new parking break.
Engine clean and tight - does not burn or leak oil. 153,000 miles with many more to go...
Bought it for $8500 and put $4500 into it, so am asking $13,000 but would consider other serious offers.
