A customer of ours gave up his restoration plans and asked us to sell it for him. Here's what we know about it:
Frame was coated in POR-15 before the tub was assembled
axles were gone through and coated in POR-15
new bushings and body mounts installed
new aqualu aluminum tub was joined with the firewall and painted
fenders, hood, cowl, etc were painted
tub was bolted to frame
Engine joined with SM465 and stock t-case bolted in frame
needs to be assembled from there

Selling my beloved FJ40. As you can see, she has comparatively little rust for 40s her age. She runs, drives, and is titled and registered for road use, though admittedly she gives you that "I'm-taking-my-life-into-my-own-hands" feeling at highway speeds.
Off-road, though, she's a beast!!!.
Stock engine w/headers, 4sp. Transmission, and 3sp. Tcase. Usual leaks, but runs strong. I've ran her about 5000 miles since I got her running again, and haven't had to refill coolant or oil, yet.
Saginaw style power steering w/new pump, gear box, hoses and super duty steering linkage.
Axles have been rebuilt, and the front diff. is the beloved fine spline pinion out of a 78. I have the rear 78 diff as well, but haven't installed it...

It's time to sell the 40. I recently bought a 60 for my wife and I to camp in and just can't afford to finish it now. I'm asking $6000 obo.
New clutch kit from ccot, new slave and master cylinders, resurfaced flywheel, new "ez wire" wiring harness(still in the box), Disk breaks up front, Rancho springs(probably from the 90s), good glass except the lift gate(Plexiglas type off stuff), nice 31X10.50 tires, Impi carb that runs good or a Weber 32 that doesn't. Your choice. The lights need some work, there is quite a bit of rust on the bib from not having a radiator overflow bottle, there's some bondo here and there(a lot on the hood), there's lots of layers of paint and one bullet hole, the front crank seal leaks pretty bad, the rain...
I am selling my 71 FJ40 crawler,this used to be Michael Harness rig from ACC in Atlanta,I bought it from him around a year ago and maybe wheeled it 4 or 5 times.I have decided to use my HZJ73 for light wheeling and buy myself a buggy for the hardcore trips.This FJ40 works really good,I had it out on the trails in Clayton OK,K2 Tx and Hot Springs AR and it performed very good.I did some sheetmetal work to it since I have bought it and installed some needed beadlock wheels.First time I used this rig without beadlock the 4 wheels where spinning inside the tires ;-)

Here's the story...
A prior owner was doing a frame up restoration X amount of years ago, he dies before finishing. It was sold to another person where it sat for several years, then I bought it. Was going to finish the restoration, then decided to build a trail rig instead. This one was way too clean to send to trail rig hell so I decided to part out.
I prefer to sell the frame with engine/trans, etc as in the photos but might pull the powertrain and sell seperately.
