1983 HJ47 Crew Cab Ute
This is one of the rare Arkana conversion models for the mining industry. easily one of the rarest types of cruisers made. BUT, these were mining trucks so they were used hard....there are no 'barn find' mint versions of these.
The truck needs some TLC. However, I drove it for an hour and a half with no smoke. It smoked on start up but it had summer diesel in it plus it had been sitting for a long time. After it warmed up and I put winter diesel in it there was no smoke.
The motor runs well with 290,000 kms (180,000 miles roughly.) After I ran it several times there were no leaks on the pavement.
The 4 speed shifts nicely with no grind or binding.

This truck was an amateur restoration, so it is a great, "20 footer" but the flaws are evident once you walk up close. Flat steel was welded in to replace floor body parts that had the ribs in them, the rear fenders were a mix of welded patches & riveting in place, rather than welded, etc.... But it is definitely a truck you can just drive & have fun with, as it is. Or, if you prefer, you could get a replacement body & do a full restoration. It all depends on what you want to do with it. Personally, if we were keeping it, I'd just tinker on it for fun (bumpers, winch, OME lift, the fun stuff) & drive it as it is for a few years, then one day when we have time & money consider a resto.

We are sad to sell our 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43, "Big Red". Spent majority of its life in Colombia. Imported to Florida in March of 2014. Sold to us in November 2014 and has been a second "fun car" over past 4 years. Kept in a garage and out of the rain.
Original color was mustard yellow. We repainted to Freeborn Red, custom soft top, custom tailgate, addition of air conditioning and heat, aftermarket bluetooth head unit and speakers in doors, and new wheels and tires all performed by Land Cruiser specialist in South Carolina. I can give you the name if interested. The soft top has roll-up side and rear windows.

I am putting up a link to my Craigslist ad... I have solid FJ43 for sale -- Colombian build. I purchased the truck while living in Bogota for work, and I shipped the truck up here this summer. I had hoped to hold on to it, but our family is going to be moving back to South America in spring (Brazil this time), and the numbers are not adding up in my favor. The title is clear and in my name. I won't tell you the truck was only driven on Sundays by a little old lady before I got it, but it's in solid shape. There was very little rust, which I had cut out, and I had it repainted. This is an excellent example of an OJ55 Crew Cab Bandeirante. This platform has been highly sought after ever since an extremely limited production of similar ones out in California. This is a true Brazilian built vehicle, but its very similar to the American 45 series. Vehicle will be sold with a clear Alabama title.
The powertrain consists of a Mercedes “OM364” 3.9 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine, which came in these trucks from the Sao Paulo factory.
