Out on infamous Trail 42 near Bartlett Lake in the Tonto near Carefree, Arizona yesterday…

Blew out the front plate of my steering box! It’s a 1967 brass tag so technically it was built in 66. I really do not want to modify, but I’m learning that these early steering boxes are expensive and hard to find parts for! Maybe someone here on mud swapped out for power steering and has some old parts sitting on the shelf?

I got a 69? In the yard I beleive, you can have for the cost of shipping. I think it was fine, still has steering shaft attached. I’ll get some pictures later today. I’m in Northern Colorado. (Edit- might also be 67’)

Thanks rlong! I know that they are different in 1969, but can still be made to work. I don’t know too much about it but from some general googling, I know that making a 1969 box work is not too difficult…
