Offered for sale is a 1982 FJ45 Troopy from Australia. The long wheel base Troopy was never offered in North America. This alone makes it stand out in a crowd. Adding to the unusual nature of the vehicle is the fact that the 2F gasoline engine and 4 speed manual transmission have been upgraded to the very desirable Toyota 12HT turbo diesel engine and H55 5 speed manual transmission.
The body panels are straight and the body appears to be rust-free with the exception of a small area on the right rear cargo door bottom edge and a couple small spots on the rear body sill. The vehicle was originally white and has been repainted beige. The finish is smooth with good gloss. The engine compartment paint remains original.

For sale is this '78 fj43 that I brought from Colombia.
This truck sat for 12 years in a garage and was bought from a friend of mine who repainted it 4 years ago, added a/c and power steering and used it as daily driver.
Drum brakes all around, new engine gaskets, new upholstery, new tires.

Original engine and running gear, disc brake swap using 60 knuckles, new radiator, steering box, carb. Few other mechanical odds and ends since taking ownership. Runs awesome, even drove it across the country from GA to Oregon once. I believe it was resprayed once with original color code before I got it. Lots of originality left in this South American 43.
Little to no rust, one of the rear ambulance doors is a little busted up and will need repair or replacement. No other damage.

This Troopie is in beautiful condition and has been just painted the original color of Dune Beige. It came straight out of the dry desert and is one of the best examples of a rust free Troopie Ive ever seen. It has the original Toyota H six cylinder engine. This truck had its restoration documented here (Tearing down my HJ47 Troopy), and its been a blast to own and drive. But all good things run their course. I need a new project and want someone else to enjoy this beast. I don’t have to sell her but space is limited and the next project needs the room. I started the restoration in March of 2011 after buying her from a member here (deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan at the time). His best friend and wife made the deal with me while he talked to me via E-mail. I drove it for a year and finally decided she deserved to be brought back to life. I would suggest anyone interested look through the build thread and then feel free to ask any questions. $39,500.

I am new around here and am looking to start an FJ45 project in CA next year. I'm not looking for a basket case but something that could be stripped down, equipped with some modern amenities (disc, upgraded suspension, stereo, etc.) and sent out for paint. Minimal rust would be best. Would also be interested in SoCal resources that I could tap into for the project and parts suppliers. Thanks in advance for all the help.
This rig is near me but I have no affiliation with it or the dealer. I was kinda curious as I've long wanted an FJ43, but not a good time for me to buy anything.
It's at Hovey Motorcars. The last FJ43 I saw there had a list price of $48k. Over the next month it dropped down into the 30's. Don't know if it sold, just stating this as an FYI - if you don't like the price when you call, they seem to leave a lot of wiggle room. There are pictures up on the ad now, there weren't a couple of days ago so I figured I'd go by on Sunday when they were closed just to take a peek. I'm posting the pics I took below the ad link. Looks like some rust bubbles under the paint below the drivers side door.

1982 BJ42 LX for sale - excellent example of an original vehicle.

- Body is fairly good condition with minimal rust. I had the chassis and underboady coated professionally in 2013.

Sold new in Colombia, it was primarily used to transport coffee to local mills there. In fact, the current seller himself is the owner of a local coffee brewhouse in his hometown and has carried on the tradition. This FJ is powered by the 2F inline 6-cylinder and is paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows 260k kilometers (~161k miles).
Outside the paint shows well all around. There is a small scratch on the passenger hood and paint is chipping underneath the fenders. Some surface spotting can be underneath on the leaf springs...
