Hi,
I have recently finished 2 new back bumpers, fully loaded, one for Robert C. and one for Sopel. I will post pics up soon and with any luck you guys will see one on Robert's truck for Cruiser Days.
I am just waiting for one more tool (shipping and customs issues) and then I have everything I need to do it right. That said, I will now officially be in the business of custom fabrication, part time for now but we'll see what happens.
Those who are interested can have a look at the creations soon and we can go from there.

Fantom Designs is in business. :bounce::bounce2:

About time.....

They are at the powder coating guys - so wait!
Dan, I assume you are refering to the bumpers if they have a swing away? they actually have 2, one for the tire one for Jerry cans and such. when I get them back I will take pics and post them.

Specs:
these are custom built for Sopel's and Robert's trucks, they have an 1 1/2" body lift and needed to be higher then regular ones. This design offers maximum approach angles, has 1/2" thick mounts straight to the frame that utilize 5 mounting bolts (3 existing for the bumper and 2 for the body mount bracket). The main cross member is 1/4" thick 2X3 with a full size hitch receiver, although it's not rated it is equivalent to a class V hitch, everything has gussets for maximum strength, the tow points are done to accept a 3/4" shackle. There are special cut outs for Jack-All lifting points that will not slip out of position.
The rest of the bumper and swing outs is made from 3/16" material, the swing outs are removable with ease for in town or daily driver vehicles. The actual swing out is done with a 2 bearing system and very durable, the clamping system used here is a basic system with an external and separate locking pin that will not release accidentally. There are extra safety locking pins to make sure the swing outs do not move out of position. The swing outs are also equipped with sliders to relieve the stress from the bearing while in stowed position.
They have been sand blasted and powder coated with a very durable textured finish.
Some modification to the truck is was necessary, some of the cross members interfere with the bumper mounting but after the bumper is installed they are not needed. These units were custom built for this application, others can be manufactured to each individual's needs.

Nice work Mat, that new welder is starting to pay for itself.

Now I need a new keyboard because I drooooollled all over it! Very nice work, love the greasable bearings on the hinges, the locking pins are nice touches!

Hey Matt, if Enigma is a pain in the ass maybe we can work something out. To further your business I am willimg to lend you my 80 for a weekend to make up a rear bumper pattern. You can then build the bumper and attach it to my 80 and I will promote your new venture by driving around with it for many years. I am willing to do this for you at no charge as I am sure you are willing to do the same.

It's all about helping each other succeed isn't it?::cheers:

I am very grateful for your generosity in this matter, seriously, speecheless :D
let's just say I will take it into very heavy consideration....wait a minute, what kind of promoting will you do with the 80, that's your mall truck not your off-road vehicle.
