Just thought I should post some pictures of my newly painted cruiser. I went with Kirker's Hot Rod Black. Found a local guy to do it for $270 (to include material costs). Not perfect by any means but definitely happy with what I have paid. It took two weeks but the guy was working around his schedule. I've searched for pictures of cruisers with flat black paint but I didn't find any here on MUD. Enjoy!

Looks good, but flat black in GA? The taint vent is your friend!

I am liking that "stealth" look.

Now add some ridiculously dark window tint, black rims, some armor, and you're ready to roll!

The manufacture of the paint recommended that I do not apply clear coat or polish the paint. Depending on the skill and the method of spraying, the paint could come out with some slight sheen. The look I was going for was very flat. Since the pricing was so cheap, I did not complain. Some areas (i.e. hood) came out with more shine. I have linked the page from Kirker that describes the procedure to achieve the desired results.

Thank you for the compliments! With the AC turned up all the way, it still gets icy cold in my car. I start sweating at stop lights though.

Chansdaman, That's what I was looking for. Thanks a bunch. I'm planning on doing the bumpers, flares, grill and a hood blackout area on my white 92. That looks like the one. Durable and UV resistant, that should hold up nicely. Thanks for posting.

Good choice! I like it a lot.

Only a few flat black 80's that I know of (not coated in rubber) but that looks great.

 I love it! What color was yours before you painted it? Mine is the dark green and I do like it but I wanted to go black and I have considered going flat balck but I think you just 100% convinced me to do it!

EDIT: missed your sig line: dark emerald pearl

I've been trying to convince the wife that I want to paint mine flat black but she was against it until I showed her the pics you posted. Now, she thinks it looks pretty good. I'll have to figure out who owns that one in Seattle and take a look at it up close. Thanks for posting the pics; can't wait to do mine once the NW pinstripe has done enough damage:p

Cheers,
Salue

All of them are bad a$$. There should be a "murdered out" thread, haha.....

Most of my cars, trucks and bikes have been black, a few things I know/noticed: hard to keep clean (obvious), primer is porous (ie; can rust) and no uv protection, any flat paint (including primer) scuffs easy and gets stained (as in oil from finger prints, etc) so best option is semi flat/semi gloss, satin or whatever you want to call it. Good to have it professionally sprayed, hot rod specific paints are best.

I like it too but damn, that's going to be hot in the summer, real hot in the desert or down south.

I have been thinking of re-painting mine satin white when the time comes.
