Correct, the price is $299. You definitely can buy a nice tent or other cool gadgets at that price, but I'm willing to pay that price. Hopefully at least 3 others are too.

Hi Salue, I am mildly interested in the tailgate enclosure you posted. However I'd like to get a lot more detail on it. I checked the company's website and it's pretty slim on useful info other than the material used to make this.

Some things that come to mind include mounting & fitting requirements, window options, the addt'l space opened up (e.g. is it basically extending the sleep area to the open tailgate/hatch?).

sorry for the slight hi-jack, no disrespect, was just giving my justification for my comment on the high price.

No worries. I actually emailed a vendor that sold the Explorer II tent and told him the LC's have a hatch and tailgate. He responded telling me that it would not fit so I ruled it out. I'm glad someone has tried it. It definitely is a lot better price. I may end up getting it too!

I like the OP's one for $299, can anyone comment on how well it would keep bugs away? that is my main concern.

That was just for the tent. I think I am leaning towards this cheaper alternative so I can save up quicker for Noah's (1973Guppie) cargo rack.

I'm not going to pursue the Safari Soft Shell any further. If anyone would like to try to get 5 people to purchase still, contact me and I can give you the guys' email.
