do you have a sunroof? a clogged drain from the sunroof is most likely your culprit - it was mine...

As others have said, it's gonna' be the sunroof drains, most likely. Friend of mine had the same problem. You can get them blown out with compressed air. Just make sure the cleaner doesn't get carried away with the pressure. That fixed my friends truck. Should do the same for yours.

Gman;

In a heavy rain, it is possible to have water run down the firewall and thru the rubber gasket for the wiring. In my case there is no excuse because I have the gasket removed temporarily. This is probably rare, but can happen.

...

I had the exact same problem on the exact same year lc, mine turned out to be the plastic clips held in by screws at the corner of the sunroof opening, these are the ones directly in the center from the drain to the sunroof opening and are on the sunroof track towards the front of the sunroof rail, in my case they had cracked underneath and was causing water to go directly into my headliner which being vinyl on that side kept the water from directly dripping in but rather routed it down the side to the driver footwell. I unscrewed the clips and siliconed the crap out of it and cleaned the drain plugs. In my particular case I found that my sunroof visor was also holding water and causing it to pool into the sunroof via the clips, I ended up removing that as well, it has not leaked since.

Thnaks to everybody;

After reading all, I recalled that my driver side was in a heavy mud. I checked the sunroof but the water does not come from the sunroof but getting collected in the left running board. When there is water in the runningboard there must be a link to the driverside floor. I will check the drains tomorrow. But, when I removed the plastic plug there was at least a galon water drained out from the running board.
