Well i have had alot of vehicles in the past mainly toyotas and a few mogs, Needed a good camping rig so i bought a 83 BJ60 with the h55f 5 speed and the 3B diesel. Bought it off the original owner always into toyota for service thing looked great frame was pooched so i got a screamin deal on it. Drove it around for the last 3 months while trying to figure out what to do with it. was browsing craigslist one day found a 88 FJ62 for cheap new tires, aircared, not pretty but solid frame i went and looked at it and basically got it for a song. The body is poo so the plan is to spring over this truck drive it around for a few months while i do the body work on the 83 and turbo it. once thats done i will combine the 2.

almost finished the front then to sort out steering and brakes. Picked up some 35 boggers on the cheap only temporary. The truck is way to tall so i was thinking shackle reversal in the front and move the shackle mounts into the frame like on the mini trucks currently they sit on top of the frame. also trying to decide to go 5.3vortec/4l60 or stick with tossing the 3b and 5 speed in there a diesel would be nice but i think slow.

Makin the 8" housing brace fit

35 boggers on the red one sadly they didnt get to stay there would be way to slow haha

thanks for all the positive feedback guys i have owned alot of trucks already built but never built my own so hopefully it will inspire me to keep it. If you see me do anything wrong let me know. otherwise keep the comments coming it inspires me to post more :grinpimp:

Some progress Axle is finished and in!! I martacked the shafts because i was there sorry no pics of that. I have bolted the axle in with toyota truck u bolt flip kit worked great with some mods, I guess landcruiser springs are wider. I will have to do something about the passenger side inner u bolt as its crooked. Waiting for hi steer hopefully in tomorrow but its good to have it on all 4's again. Going to order the ford shock towers tommorow. Not quite sure what to do with the brake lines I cut off the backing plate which mounts the brake line and the new upper shock mount is in the way. Also deciding whether to go with Longfields or Dirty 30's. And not sure what kinda shocks to get. Any input on anything would be great.

lighter with the 3B? I thought the diesel would be heavier or comparable. where it sits now the pinion angle is up a few degrees i will have to get my angle meter out and do some measuring. but it is welded in the front so not to worried bout on road vibrations.

Anyways update:

Well Got the high steer today and installed it started working out the brakes rear lines are rusty and one broke ugggh. Ordered the ford shock towers should be in tommorow. Should have this think moving around tommorow minus shocks woo hoo!

looks good, who is the high steer from?

Its fun driving a cruiser without shocks. Dangerous, but fun.

Im not sure what the difference in weight is, but the 2FE is a bit of an anchor, and I think the 3B with accesories is 450-540 lbs-ish.

trail gear highsteer its for a 4runner or truck and a little bit to short will have to get some new tubes made up but will work the way it is for now.

What kind of TRE's and drag links are you running with that high steer? Plans on ram assist?

Oh its a kit. Marlin sells these too right? How do you plan to mount the ram-assist? Thanks

Dan
