I was trying to put my my F (74.5) motor on a stand last night and my stand's arms do not line up to the bolt holes on the back of the F. ( I can only move the top arms up and down and lower arms at 45 degrees down from the center) I can use the top two and the middle two holes on the motor but this seems it will put too much stress on the mounts.

My questions is, I should be using the top two bolt holes and the bottom, wide holes to secure the engine to the stand. Correct?

If this is the case, I am going to have to mod my stand to accept the F engine. I used this same stand to hold up myold I-6 motor and thought the bolt holes would be similiar.

Anyone have a spare pic of how they attach a stand to thier engine?

There is a recent thread about this but here is a Harbor Fraight stand with an F attached.

Looks good. I didn't thin of having the vertical bars cross over like that. I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Here is how I have mine loaded: I used longer than necessary bolts so I used washers and pipe to take up the slack.

I found it easier to rotate because of weight balance than when I had it set up like Coolerman has his.

I believe that! A friend and I tried to rotate mine and damn near turned the whole thing over when the engine reached about 40 degrees!

I decided that the oil pan and gasket could be replaced just as easily the way it was... :D
