I know this isn't news to any of us but I liked what got the #1 spot for the best used vehicle on a Yahoo Autos story:

It really is. What else on the market can you get with a V8, leather, seating for 7, off-road capability, stunning aftermarket options, and the reliability from Toyota for less than $10K?
 
Don't you mean seating for 8?! But ya, as if it's not good enough already. Thanks for posting and also I have to say it's nice to see Toy/Lex taking up 6 of those 10 spots. I'm currently trying to steer my fiance into an LS of GS, or maybe it's just because I want one...
 
Fairly accurate. I disagree with GM products being on the list, but they can't be right all the time.

If you are going to put a ton of miles on, the Toyota UZ and JZ engine class can't be beat. Unless suspension components have come down in price, LS460 could be expensive to drive a long time. Also, 2006 GS300 has a suspect engine. The rest of the Lexus products in the 1998 to 2006/7 range are great.
 
LC = Granite, nice! It's interesting that Toyota/Lexus hold 6 of the top 10 positions.

1. Lexus LX470/Toyota Land Cruiser


These vehicles are the automotive version of granite. They are heavy as ****, don’t age and will most assuredly squash whatever vehicular bugs and cockroaches are on the road should the Zombie Apocalypse ever take place. The Land Cruiser and LX470 are the best on our list.

Both great cars. I recently purchased a barely used '08 ES350 with only 32k miles for just under $20k. The LS and GS are better looking vehicles but the ES was more in my price range and is exceedingly comfortable for my wife to travel in with her back and neck problems. I was pleased to see the Camry/ES/Avalon pretty high on the list too.
 
Of course I'm biased but my 99 runs like new, no oil usage or leaks, perfect maintenance, runs like a scalded rat and needs nothing. It hauls people, dogs, pine straw and large rocks. Can easily be driven to 300,000 miles and parts are not unreasonably priced. If you have a problem you can find the solution on this site. You can get it stuck if you try hard enough. Prices for used one's are not bad considering what you get.

Only problem is it's addiction to large amounts of gas. There is no cure.
 
So funny. I wonder if the values will go up?

Also, the GM is pretty accurate because the original owner gets all the junk fixed under warranty and the next owner is pretty much good to go. ;<)

I am guessing after the publication of the list that finding sub 10K 100's will become more difficult. Not counting the Mudder who works at a Yota dealership and purchased his from a customer for a pack of Slim Jim's and a joint.
 
I wish I could just buy another one now and hold it in reserve....

My mom's 95 Buick Park Avenue did almost 200k miles before she replaced it with a new Avalon. She lives in an area where they use road salt extensively and it didn't even rust.

The power of taking care of your car is obvious.

Nice, thanks for the advice there. I agree that you can't go wrong with any of those but my lady agrees about the looks of the ES.

I drove a '96 LS400 for a long time before moving into the LC. While I needed something larger for hauling cargo and don't regret the decision, I miss the LS sorely. You will be extremely pleased with the LS if you choose to go that route.
