LC100/LX470 is #1 used vehicle

I drive less than 8000 miles a year in a state with reasonable gas prices, so MPG isn't a huge deal. The LS wasn't so bad; 16 in the city IIRC. I'd get another one in a heartbeat if the need for a second car presented itself.

So funny. I wonder if the values will go up? Also, the GM is pretty accurate because the original owner gets all the junk fixed under warranty and the next owner is pretty much good to go. ;<)

Hopefully the 100s do appreciate some in value. I also think the early 100s are immensely undervalued in the market currently.

I drove a '96 LS400 for a long time before moving into the LC. While I needed something larger for hauling cargo and don't regret the decision, I miss the LS sorely. You will be extremely pleased with the LS if you choose to go that route.

Nice to hear another vote, not that there were doubts lol. I always wanted a 95-97 LS to yank the motor out of for my 4Runner. But then the LC happened, much better. I hear you on the gas too, believe it or not this 100 is the second most economic vehicle I've owned :hillbilly:

Owning both #1 ('00 LX) and #3 ('02 LS) on the list.

IMHO the LS is a better quality. Especially the body (feel of the doors, for example). Both vehicles are great. And resale value after 7-10 years is really low. Especially the LS's. Win-win for me, because that's when I buy them....

That is a great idea. Shrink wrap it like a boat and bring it out in 10 years or so.

I think that is what I got. My '02 470 still had the original plastic and factory setting on the radio and had the clear plastic covering on the Lexus name on the door floorboards when I bought it last summer.

Values are purely a function of consumer demand. And let's not forget, just because a consumer wants something, doesn't mean the consumer is right. If the consumer were right 100% of the time, someone would still be making buggy whips.

Consumer attitudes and preferences for SUV's are pretty much set at this point and the trend is toward lighter vehicles and better MPG. It's a double edged sword, if they are in demand, we pay more, but if they lose value, it means fewer purchased.

This in an interesting statistical study of over 300,000 used cars. Landcruiser and LX series are most reliable highest rated vehicles.

I didn't consider fuel economy when purchasing my 100 - other factors negated the sh&#@y mpg e.g. acquisition price, depreciation, reliability, build quality.
I paid 13k for my 2000 w/ 98k - 4 years later (148k), still worth 11 - 12k. realizing I'm a Toyota fanboy - I don't see a better value, either...

They have a great reputation for reliability and depreciation here in the UK

They make the home grown stuff look like toys

Good use ones are like unicorn sh1t

Extremely rare!!

I spent a month in London and a few weeks in Cambridge, can't say I saw a single one and I'm always looking for Toyotas.

yes - true

most of the locals have been sucked into the RR branding tbh

they are quite rare - to the point when you pass another you gently nod your head and give them a knowing smile

but mostly they are TD not the V8 - and all have lockers

ps I grew up in London but now live in Cambridge
