Hey everyone. I have a buddy who is a spectacular fabricator (yea yea we all have a friend like that haha) who is starting up a company specializing in offroad accessory fabrication. My previous vehicle was a 2007 Nissan Frontier CC 4x4 Nismo that he used to mock up lots of parts that have been selling very well for him. He is currently building light bars, roof racks, sliders, and a few other accessories. He specializes in low profile designs and the quality of his work is off the charts.

Anyway, now that I have the 100 Series, he wants to once again use my truck to mock up parts and bring them to market. So my question to everyone is: What do you want? What do you think is needed for the 100 Series aftermarket? Anything missing? What can be approved? So lets hear it... :)

I'd like to give him some ideas and words of recommendation from the TLC community.

Check out his website: Welcome to XOSKEL, off road accessories for your Xterra, and other vehicles in the near future.

Here are some pics of my previous truck and the products he developed for the Frontier/Xterra platform:

A cheap SAS kit. :grinpimp:

I would like a low profile light rack for the 100's stock roof rack. As I have no plans for a AO rack anytime soon. Such as in the last 3 pictures.

What I want is an affordable 1/2 cargo barrier that is easy to remove. Think Milford without the price tag.

Perhaps an interior tire carrier? Btw, your buddies website doesn't like Safari browsers.

I would like to see...

Frankly, I am much more interested in seeing more competition on price than I am any new/unique products.

Wouldn't we all!! hehe... I am not he is going to be attacking that portion of the market but hey a suggestion is a suggestion, and I will forward it on.

That is right up his alley, and I believe he is already thinking the same thing. Thanks!

Camping Labs makes an awesome low profile rack.

Indeed they do. I assume you are referring to the FrontRunner WindCheetah. If there is interest in low profile roof racks that is again something he already has a good handle on and can move forward on quickly. I am willing to bet he could beat their prices as well. One thing I like about all of the Xoskel roof racks is the sunroof removeable section. So like most of us who spend the weekdays around town and want to use our sunroof we can without issue. Then when the full rack is needed, you just drop in the sunroof section and with a screwdriver snug it down. It is a very clean design and very low profile.

Interior tire carrier and cargo barrier. Got it! He has already made a interior tire carrier for the Nissan Xterra that works very well. I will also mention the Safari issues. Thanks!

Absolutely! For example, I already have him thinking about rock sliders that would be priced better than all others on the market. I will again pass on the suggestion.

Thanks everyone! Keep the suggestions coming, he is excited to have a 100 Series to start prototyping with and wants to set some priorities.

dude i have been trying to get a light bar set up like that for years: problem is not many people will do one off's for us cruiser people. a great guy (hanna) does great stuff for the 80 series but nothing for the 100"s then also i am from the east coast which makes things worse for me with working with someone. Biggest thing if you can do is getting those light bars to somehow fold back similar to all the baha race ones when they put the trucks into the trailers. This would help us that go into garages which have clearance issues. But i am game if you make something similar to the top tips on that frontier truck

He has thought about flip-up light cages before and I will pass along the suggestion. I am sure something like a low profile light bar for the factory roof rack is going to happen. Thanks!

I would like a light bar for the factory roof radk, and a light bar for the factory front bumper

Is there any interest in a rear facing light bar that also attaches to the factory roof rack?

Yeah id like the rear facing light bar too for some backup lights.

I will send you a diagram of a roof rack that I want - low profile, light bars up front, with specific tabs for my Autohome RTT. Then I want a side hinge so that the RTT can lift up and I can load up the rack. Diagram to follow.

Good looking work.

He can experiment on my sliders if he wants another proto rig. I want him to incorporate the side protection bars similar to ARBs that goes from the slider to the front bumps.

some sort of light bar to be mounted on the front bumper

Rear facing light bars are always nice. He has a few rear facing light bars for other vehicles as well.

He has asked me a number of times what the interest is for a replacement roof rack. So the more people who post up about roof racks the higher the priority will be for them. Low profile is the name of his game and pretty much the design feature he works into all of his products. I am also interested to see what he comes up with for the sliders.

There seems to be interest right off the bat for a front light bar that works with the factory bumper. Again, this is something he has already done for a few other vehicles and they came out really nice.

Keep the suggestions coming everyone! If someone has already posted up some that you are interested in, post up again. He is going to start work on the accessories that generate the most interest in the community. So lets hear it...

There seems to be lots of interest in cargo barriers...

Thanks!

Cargo barrier would be good. :)

Also, all the talk about rear back up light bar got me thinking about those mounting points for the bat wing (air deflector). Those points could make a useful spot for light bars, back up light mounts, improved air deflector, or some other cool thing not thought of yet...
