restitching leather

Pulled my seats today. Cliped the hog rings and pulled leather off. I took them in to a local shoe repair shop to have them sewed back together. I should have them back on friday.:p

What are you looking at in terms of cost for the re-stich?? My 2nd row is beat (kids and car seats)... overall I've been lucky on the interior though - except the break-in to steal my iPod that just slightly scratched the drivers door panel with broken glass - the insurance bought a new one though (to my surprise!!) and they run $900...

Anyone want to buy a drivers door panel that is very slightly scratched on the top? Other than that and a kinda dirty speaker cover it's in good shape.

I probably exaggerate a little - they are "ok" but not perfect... anyway - I'll rip them out soon and put in Lay-z-boy recliners !!!

pick up repaired leather today. $97 stitched and patched. pics to follow.

Wasn't a bad project. It took about 5 1/2 hours in total. 1 1/2 spend on the couch watching tv while using the hog ring plyers. If I had know it was so simple I'd have done it at the fist sign of tearing. I did catch it before too much damage to the foam. I'm happy with the results. Sure new Leather would be nice but this fit the budget a little better.

Best part of all was clearing out the Cherios.

Great job on that.....

Shameless plug.............But if you ever need leather I have OE reproduction kits for the 100 series.

See sig line or head over to the vendor section.

How expensive are those kits?

Appear to be very good quality and so far, no complaints from anyone that I've seen.

Definitely on the "to-do" list for me as my fronts are beginning to show some wear. My middle row isn't too bad, but it's only $200 more to do both instead of just the fronts. I am planning on just swapping the middle-row out anyway, and then sell the OEM on eBay or something since it's still usable.
