Wanted WTB: blown or damaged transfer case FJ-60

Im looking for a transfercase for my FJ-60, I don't have the money to buy a functioning transfercase but I do have the space in my garage to rebuild one over time. For what it is worth, shipping a split transfercase with gears, shifter, etc (no oil) weighs in at about 107 lbs. I just shipped two today. Shipping from Vermont to Virginia ran a bit over $46 apiece via dhl. I sold each for $200. You might want to search hard and make some offers to folks parting vehicles close by....you might get lucky and in your price range.

I just bought a used one for something like $150 shipped. It probably can stand a rebuild, but at less than 200k miles, I'm just going to throw it in. You should be able to get a working unit for that price.

Depending on condition.... I think between $200 and $300

What is the t-case doing? Why do you think it needs a rebuild? Post up to the LSLC list.

It can't hold itself in gear, Wimberly Off Road said that some gears and an imput shaft are stripped. At the time I couldn't afford the repair bill so I just told him to throw it back together. The price to replace all of the gears and shafts plus shop prices came out to about $2500.

I have some transfer case shells if you need them. Also, have a rebuild kit, but not sure how complete it is.
