NO LOCKERS – ORIGINAL HEADGASKET
I have reached a point where my LC is no longer practical for all my daily driving duties and have decided to purchase a truck by the end of May. I have already been quoted trade in prices by the two dealers where I plan to purchase the new truck from. If I am unable to sell the LC in a couple weeks I’ll just trade it in, as the trade in offers are not much less than my asking price. I figured I’d try to sell it on my own first to make a couple extra nickels and help out a fellow enthusiast.
Details and mods:
· 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser with 139k miles
· Black exterior with oak/tan interior
· FOR (Frankie’s Off Road) 3” lift – installed Dec 07
· TOYO OPEN COUNTRY MT – 315/75/16 (Dec 07; less than 7k miles on tires)
· Landtank Caster correction plates – installed Feb 08
· Slee Double Cardan Front Driveshaft – installed Feb 08
· Slee interior mounting bar for matching full-size spare tire (Jan 08)
· CDL Switch
· Geroge’s LED’s (map and overhead)
· LED’s in courtesy lights (door lights)
· HIR Bulbs (high & low) & Slee upgraded harness
· Yellow box speedo correction
· Front axle serviced last year at 124k miles
· Recently had the rear main seal, front trans seal, oil pan gasket seal replaced
· Reasonable maintenance records dating back to Mar 04
The bad:
· Intermittent P401 CEL – dealer indicates that it is most likely the VSV
· Needs front brake pads – I have a new set of OEM 100 series pads, just haven’t installed yet
· One broken wheel stud on passenger side front
Overall I would say the LC is in good condition, but this is an 11 year old vehicle and as such has wear & tear compensatory with its age. The LC is my daily driver and I do not hesitate to take it on road trips. Last weekend took it on a 600 mile furniture shopping ‘excursion’.
