Hello folks,

I put up a thread on the Alamo City Land Cruisers forum with some pics of yesterdays trip if you want to see them. I had a great time with you all! Hopefully we can do this again soon!

So, did you guys like HF better than K2? I do. Lots of wide open spaces. Great scenery and nice camping/bathroom facilities.

Ya' know, to me it's almost comparing apples to oranges. Both have their good and bad. I like K2 because it is more of a "rock" place, where HF is more ledges and the trails are in tighter terrain, not sayin' that K2 doesn't have it's tight spots, they just aren't continuos like the ravines that a lot of the HF trails are...also not sayin' that some HF trails aren't a little more open, but most are ravines where there is no air to breath when it's real hot (we got lucky this weekend with GREAT weather and temps). It's been over two years since I was at HF last, sayin' that, the trail network is really hugh and both have great scenery for their perspective high points on the property (HF has a higher altitude than K2). The roads leasding into the park are much improved since my last visit, sign up area and entrance are different at HF. Although I do like going to K2, HF has proven itself to be able to hold a large event with pretty nice amenities and the room to still grow more trails.

How about that, all this typing and I didn't say much either way. I'm sure some of the others will chime in with their ideas. One thing though.. HF isn't just a rock garden, there is more to it, where K2 is a ...rock garden...mostly.

Great pic Luis. I did that trail (Broken Bronco I believe, or Broke Back Bronco, not sure LOL!!) in two wheel drive, agin didn't know I didn't have 4 wheel drive 'til half way through the trail...

Yeah, I think HF has more variety to offer. I just really like the hilly scenery and relatively close location.

10-4, didn't use near the fuel to get there and back...no where near the amount of time getting there and back..

your welcome Luis i'm glade ya'll all could make it. i had a grate time. even after i smashed the rear of the 45. i got home ok and to work today to drop the cruiser off for repairs some time soon? i would like to go back out and do it again after i get a locker installed, power steering, my 8274 & rear bumper. all should be done very soon. i like HF has alot to offer if your rig has power steering ;>)

Looks like you guys had a great time.
Bummed to have missed it.

I'm with Dave...I prefer HF based on my limited exposure.

...and then propane, portal axles, flatbed. i see where this is going!?

I enjoyed lunch Luis, we'll have to have a southside get-together.
See you guys soon, would love to got out to HF again, probably without Carmela--she wasn't impressed.
Tim

Tim,

We also enjoyed lunch with you and Carmela...

HF is a great place. As you all have mentioned, close by, nice trails. Wr definitely need to make another trip before it gets too hot.

I was really impressed too! I had a great time and can't wait to go back. Is it possible for us to pull together another trip before it gets too hot? Edwin> get that work done!

Bobby

Dave...Do you run your hundy around at HF. I was thinking about taking mine out there for fun sometime soon.
It is my DD so I dont wont to trash it.

Cool pics thanks

Yes, Edwin. let's go.

There are lots of different trails of varying levels. You'll be OK as long as you don't go on 4+ trails. Expect some Texas pin-striping though.
