Welp, I've enjoyed 3 years of wheeling my trusty lil tintop but now I'm ready to play on the big boy trails. Here is what I'm building:

All designed in SolidWorks. Building it in m apartment/friend's bicycle fame manufacturing shop.

1.75" DOM tube chassis
mini truck axles
37" red label BFG's with Raceline rock monster wheels.
dual toy cases with 4.7's in rear with a TG disconnect for dig
3 speed auto trans out of a Geo Tracker w/custom coupler to TC's
1.6 8v Sidekick motor
14" Racerunner air shocks
4 linked front and rear
shooting for 106" WB with a belly less than 20"
samurai hood/cowl/grill

That's awesome design work. can't wait to see the final product.

Some of the actual build process. I should be breaking ground on the chassis in the next couple weeks. Everything else is ready to bolt on.

here is the trans/coupler/cases/disco:

Rear axle ready to bolt in.

Front axle. shocks. lower 4130 heat treated links and cowl.

Heated corbeau. crow 5 point harnesses, sparco wheel, willwood brake assembly, cutting brake, and shifter.

grill n HID headlights

That's awesome. Build it in your apartment. So how long have you been working on this?

are u using full PSC setup or just the ram?

Full psc kit. 2.5" ram that is limited to 6" stroke(so if i upgrade to a 1 ton axle i'll take the puck out and have 8" stroke). orbital, cooler, pump.

I've been collecting, buying and fab'n parts along with designing in cad for about a year. goal is to have the rig on trail for spring meet.

heat treated cowl
sick
:p

what weight you shooting for

I like your lil stinger, need to make that air powered like those bimmer rollbars

I am designing mine in crayon:flipoff2:

shooting for 2000lbs... but If i had to guess will probably be in the 2500-2600ish range.

Use heat treated crayons for maximum buggy design crawlosity. :p

X2! Love the model... I played around with pro/e modeling a 40 but didn't get to far. I can definitely appreciate the work in that. Can't wait to see the final product!

Got the latest tool for this job last night. Miller Passport. 180amp mig welder in a suitcase. I can run it on 220 with 75/25 gas at the shop...It can also run on 110v and has a paintball co2 inside so it will be prefect for making "adjustments" at the trails.

I did cut a few tubes last night. This weekend I am going to spend some time really getting my shop space straightened out and hopefully tacking together some tube.

How does it go from solidworks to reality?
