sometimes the old carb is the way to go, picked this engine up cheap, low miles, learned a lot so far though, I have a fj60 I might go carb....not sure yet. The fuel injection will be nice, guess it depends on finding the right deal.

gotta think where to go.....:bang:

from the looks of it I will be the leakest link, as I am still open diff, and winch-less. (that changes this month)

Lost horse creek is a cool area just south of Hamilton a few miles. it doesn't go straight up the side of a mountain. should be able to get a ways up it. a lot of little branch of roads. and on the way out cut across to como lake?

I am game to go just about anywhere, i dont mind heading south or there are trails out my way..........

We like Lost Horse. I assume you can't go that far up it, or it's gated. Is it open as far as one can drive still? Have you checked with USFS on gate?

Got my 4.88's. Very nice. Drives like a normal vehicle now. Knuckles are like new too, now. Just need the alignment dealt with. Monday at 10:00.

So, chains for the outing, obviously, if one has them. Airing down is good for snow traction too isn't it? I'll have compressor.

where is your way landroamer? I am down for going somewhere new, I havent been down to lost horse since the end of hunting season. thats just about the only road down here that won't be an ice rink on a burnt clear cut with a 1000 ft drop off shoulder. that what I am trying to stay clear of.

There are several trails this way, I gotta run up on a couple I have in mind to see how they are, I will pop up a couple this week end,
Bruiser, I live in the upper half of petty creek, easy way up here from your direction is up hwy 12, past the lumberjack, I live about 6 mile or so past.....
Also out petty creek, up 9 mile or out 90 there are some roads, I am game to go anywhere though,

I grew up in Frenchwoman and hunt in 9mile all the time. Very comfortable in that area. Have you been over graves creek road lately?

yeah, I go over graves creek going to town sometimes, I am actually closer to town going that way than out petty creek to 90, although I go that way too. graves creek is usually plowed.
out my way depends on the snow, I have a good trail I usually run but if there is to much snow down low I dont like going up the first mile in deep snow, not very wide, if the snow is less than a foot on that part then life is good.:D I will try to run up this week end and look, its not far, otherwise there are some other places to look,

So how does everybody meeting at that gas station just above the lolo steak house at 9 a.m. then head up from there?

Travelers rest, good meeting place,

Hey guys, if anyone is interested in a roof top tent, I bought one from Andy up in canada, paid 1450 delivered for the tent, annex changing room, and awning room with removable walls to use just as an awning. The price to mud is 1550 for a limited time but he said he would sell to my friends for the 1450 for a limited time. This tent is non branded but seems to be very well built, when I got it out of the box I opened the owners manual it was a tupui autana tent. The tupui sells for 1325 plus for a limited time a flatrate 150 shipping, this is with no annex and no awning. Just thought I would throw this out if anyone was interested, You can check mine out too if you want to see one.

I was not quite ready to buy a tent but the deal was good, I cant say 100 percent but they look the same, other than the rain fly, my research showed that most the tents are made in the same factories, even the arb's, the only tent I found that shows different was the eez awn which is made in south africa and cost's a whole lot more, most tents where 200-260g ripstop materials. this tent is 300g ripstop according to their website. the dimensions on the arb are 55x94, this tent is 56x95. close to the same, I would bet to say you would be buying the same tent just branded arb.
check out the website http://rooftoptent.webs.com/
I am very happy with it, and the extra accesories are a real bonus, Andy takes paypal and credit cards. I ordered it on a saturday night, He shipped in monday morning and I had it friday. His communication was excellent.
Just thought I would throw it out there.

So Traveler's Rest at 9am. I will be there.

... my research showed that most the tents are made in the same factories...

Yes, I operate on this assumption a lot. There's what's called the "gray market" when people sell the same thing de-badged or direct from the factory without the branding company seeing any of the profit, and possibly even paying for the manufacture of the item. I've bought $250 stereo cables for $35 that way. I've been happy. The legal issues in those situations aren't clear.
