Zac will weigh in I'm sure, but that's part of the workmanship problems I'm talking about. See attached. Left rear door panel has fabric lines perpendicular, right rear door panel has it at an angle. They are not consistent. Maybe if I paid extra, they would have been correct and consistent.

Nomad Cruisers: where quality costs extra!

It's under warranty, send it back I will fix it... and yes quality does cost way more than I charged you but I will stand behind it and fix that issue, as that is a valid claim. You pay shipping here I'll pay shipping back.I like your lava lamp.

When you quoted me the price 30 weeks ago, you didn't say "This price is for panels with quality problems. If you want panels without quality problems, the price is higher.". In fact, you stated numerous times from the beginning that these "will be perfect".

You should make quality products regardless of the price.

Those are very quality Stephan.. even the crooked one is quality just a little off center
Every product we make is quality for your price point. The wave you sent me was not this..
Ship it back I'll get it done in 2 days and back to you.

@pinkiedog64 and @Nomadcruisers44 we are not really making any progress here with the back and forth.

May I make a suggestion? (And if I can't, your mama so fat she wakes up on both sides of the bed.)

Stephan, Zac has offered several times to make this right, if you pay for the shipping. I think that is fair, if you will be getting the quality you are asking for. How much is shipping? Tell ya what, I will step in and pay for shipping, and if you are not satisfied with the results, post them up here for all to see. If everyone says they are perfect, then you split the shipping with me. If you and everyone says they are not up to par, then shipping is on me and I will go see Zac in person. :)

Again I am a friend of Zac's but I just want to see this get resolved! the back and forth is not a good look for anyone....

Agree. We are spinning our wheels. Thanks for the offer. I have already proposed a treaty/resolution to Zac offline. If he accepts, that'll be the end of this.

Good to hear! Would love an amicable resolution for everyone's sake!

Your mama....is/was a very nice lady.

Just emailed you, Zac.

How could they meet, they were in different time zones...

Zac, sent you an email.

Closing the loop on this. In addition to the previously mentioned cosmetic issues, upon installation, I discovered two significant fit issues. On the right front door panel, five of the door clips didn’t line up, by between 1/8 - 1/4”. To resolve this, I had to carefully measure and slot the holes. The other fit issue was the shape of the left cargo panel was incorrect around the rear folding seat latch. For this, I had to make a template of what the shape of the panel should have been in that region, peel back the upholstery, trace the outline from the template, and trim the ABS backing panel (about 1/4” x 6”), trim the excess upholstery, and glue the upholstery back down. On top of that, I still had to cut the speaker holes in the cargo that Zac agreed way back in March to cut (have email proof), but since he didn’t put it in the invoice, he refused to do. All in all, I spent my entire Saturday fixing problems.

Zac said he would fix two of the issues (one fit and one cosmetic) of the myriad issues under warranty, but dismissed all the other cosmetic and fit issues, saying “everything else looks very nice”. Clearly my standards for what looks good and fits good are higher than his. Zac was unwilling to pay return shipping. My thought is that if you screw up, you should own it.

I voluntarily opted out of his offer of warranty work. I fixed the fit issues myself and am living with the cosmetic issues. After two sets of panels that each had a slew of problems, I have lost confidence that Zac has the skill or attention to detail to fix them to my satisfaction, not to mention to do it in the timeline he says. Zac offering to pay shipping costs would not have changed my mind.

Someone shared this post to the FJ60/62 group on Facebook a week ago. The responses there, and here, and the private messages I’ve received indicate my experience with Zac is not uncommon. You are all big kids, so you can make your own decision about whether or not to do business with Zac. If I knew then what I know now, I definitely wouldn’t have and I know of other people in the same boat.
