If there is a run I'm in with the Sammy. Seems this is the only place I can find the time for. I know the Class VI run in as well in case anyone forgot directions.

It's a YT event if there is any interest. I will not be going so people will need to get organized on their own.
Remember that it only takes 2 rigs to have a good day of wheeling!

I am trying my best to get the 40 in shape to make this run...but I am not confident. I sure would like to....

So do we want to set up a time for Saturday?
Does Meeting up at 9:30 at the Blackwater Junction Restaurant (730 Main St, Andover, NH ) work for everyone?

Family was going to have family day at a state park...but with 100% rain in the forecast, may as well go wheeling. Can 32s w/ a locker be alright? Never been on these trails.

Haven't been up yet this year. There is a class VI run to the site that should be fine assuming it hasn't changed much. On the property last year I ran my Samurai on 27" snow tires on just about every trail, albeit with some help and down hill on the harder ones. Stinkyfinger probably has a better perspective on it.

9:30am at the Blackwater works for me.

I would say so as long as it's got some good tires, you can do it. If this place was dry it would only have a rating on the low end of moderate but because the property is one big underground spring it's always wet and muddy and puts the rating on the high end of moderate right to the hard level, depending which trail you take.

I'm sorry guys but I'm out for this one :frown:
I thought I fixed the problem with the charging system in the 40 but it's not working battery won't charge...this sucks I wanted to go :bang:

Bummer Chris. That's the trouble with beaters, I've missed more runs than I've made. Tried my winch last night, and it wouldn't even drag my 2300lb rig on flat ground. Sprung for a fancy new battery today. Guess the kids will be eating Ramen Noodles for awhile.

I'm still in if there's interest.

Trip report?

Do you think they are back yet?
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Heard it was REAL muddy!

Yeah, it was a bit gooey. Lost track of how many times we had to pull cable and we didn't even make it to the harder stuff. For anybody who hasn't been up there most of the trails are pretty tight. Trails on the high ground were really slick and the lower ones were flat out quagmire from all the rain. Being so wet you couldn't really pick a line, it was just hit the gas and ping pong off of stuff. Had a great time, thanks guys!

Trip report?

Didn't mind the constant rain or mud....but it was impossible to pick a line. 4runner never went where you wanted it, thus ended up high centered on rocks and pulled cable many times. I had to change my driving style since I was used to crawling (4.70) in first or second gear. Stuck at least 4 times on the way in. Used third gear on the way out, so I can spin/cleanout tires. Only got stuck once on the way out.
Damage - My driveshaft started banging on the gas tank and skid plate when the rear was flexed, but sounded normal when level. Checked out underneath and found the panhard bar drop bracket was bent. This shifts the axle (and driveshaft) more toward the passenger side, causing the contact. 4Runner is showing its limitations...it's inspected and registered until next July, but after that, I am moving on.

Time for a 40 trail rig. Nothing pretty, just built for function!

Bump.

Before the snow flies....

Buehler?
