This truck has been listed on EBay three times in as many weeks and has not sold.
It started off with a starting price of $18,000+ and received no bids. It was relisted with no starting price and the bidding fizzled out around $12,000.00. It is now relisted with a starting bid of $12,500.00.
Is it priced to high, is the engine disliked, etc.?

..... And no it is not my truck nor do I know the seller.

I've heard it's a good engine, but is it worth a 10K+ premium over a gasser? Not for me. An older truck with a solid axle along with this engine might command a better price.

Seems pretty steep for an IFS standard cab rig. I'm sure the swap cost quite a bit though.

500K miles on a KZ? with how many head replacements?
that would be a fun rig to drive, no doubt.
i would say it is worth the $22K.

....and I thought my wife could send "mixed signals."
The KZ is obviously an engine you dislike but you are fine with 22K..... :D

if hte install is as clean as it is then yes, the value is there.
chances are there is much more than $22K into that vehicle.
IF it was just a KZ and not the E version it would be worth more to me... those E versions are a PITA to get working right if something goes sideways with the E portion.

My opinion is I wouldn't spend more than $6000 for that truck based on its actual utility to me. It sounds like it has a ton of money in it but I don't see the value there let alone $22k. It may be worth 10-12K to someone but any more than that and I think you are throwing money away. I don't know any one with enough coin to pay 22K ever saying they wanted a diesel reg cab pickup.

Precisely. $22,000 will get you a vastly superior truck, maybe not a collectible, but one that is entirely more useable, durable and less troublesome. If the thinking is that it will be worth more down the road, there's many more cheaper LC's that will do that.

with a load in the back ...
the 79 rides nicer than the 75 but i would rather have the 75 removable top ...

i will doubt that i will sell for over $15K
Buy a HJ75 Ute ..... They ride so smooth. :D
