You can comb your Radiator fins

1. Figure out the spacing of your vehicle's radiator fins. Most normal radiators will have eight, nine, 10, 12, 14 or 15 fins per inch.
2. Step 2
   Adjust your radiator comb to the appropriate spacing setting, ensuring that the number of fins per inch is identical both on your tool and your radiator.
3. Step 3
   Hold the radiator comb flush to each individual panel of your radiator, ensuring that the fins line up with the grooves in the comb.
4. Step 4
   Press down on the radiator comb very gently. It will catch on the bent fins. The proper use of a radiator comb requires a delicate touch and patience. Don't use a great deal of force, or you might snap the fins.
5. Step 5
   Use a radiator comb with a screwdriver motion for added control . These combs should be incrementally lowered down to clamp onto the individual fins, which are then bent back into their original positions.
6. Step 6
   Lift the radiator comb straight off once you have realigned all the fins in the section of the radiator in which you're working. Then, move down to the next fins that need to be cleaned and repaired and repeat the process. It's not a bad idea to overlap a couple of fins from the previous section as you move down to the next, making sure you don't miss any.
7. Step 7
   Continue until you have fixed all the bent fins in your radiator. You'll notice that your radiator looks more or less as good as new.

I bought one of those deals for the rad that went it to my truck recently grinpimp, but I ended up using a small bladed jack knife to do the job instead. If the fins are flattened, you ain't going to get the comb into them.

A tiny duck bill pliers works pretty good, I'd pass on those combs; too good to be true.

I've used that tool before and was not too fond of it, it found the screwdrivers method more to my taste. However, I wonder if your could just take a regular hair comb and cut it to fit the spacing of a rad?

"Combs" worked okay with really old school radiators which had straight fins. But with the smaller zigzag fins of modern radiators they really don't work worth a damn.
